A/N: this is going to be an interesting chapter ;)

I start to shake, as my stomach drops to the floor.
"Everything okay?" Hayes says, worried.
No, no it's not okay.
"I-I don't feel well" I say, getting up to the bathroom.
"Okay," Elizabeth says.
"Go lay down in Hayes's room. We'll take care of the dishes" she says, with a worried smile.
I thank her, and walk up the stairs.
I run into the bathroom, and I run my hands through my hair.
It's too late, now.
It'll be too much to tell him now.
You can't say goodbye.
-
I lay down on the top bunk in Hayes's room.
Ten minutes later, Hayes comes up with water.
"Hey" he says, climbing up to the top bunk with the water.
"Hey" I say, giving him a smile smile.
"You feeling better?"
I drink the water.
"Yeah. Thanks" I say, playing with my hair.
"So, I was thinking" Hayes begins.
"Yes?" I say, studying his eyes.
"Well, we're having awards for football at a dinner tomorrow night, and there is a thing where we have to pick a special person." He says, turning to me
"Will you be that special person?"
I breathe in, and nod.
"Yes"
-
I slept over again at Hayes's house, and right now both of us are getting ready for the awards dinner.
I wear a simple white blouse, with a black skater skirt and leggings, finished with combat boots.
Hayes is wearing a tie, and he looks so cute.
"Your adorable" I say, pinching his cheeks.
He pouts and squeezes my cheeks.
"So are you"
-
We're at the dinner, and they're about to call the awards out.
- 20 minutes later -
"And the MVP award goes to... Hayes Grier!" The speakers boom, and I smile.
Hayes is flashing a smile at everyone as he walks up to claim his award and read his speech.
"Well, I would like to thank you all so much for supporting our team. As a quarterback, you rely on your teammates to look out for you. And boy, could I trust my team. This year we were stronger than last year. And that's every team's goal. Now, everyone who receives an award needs a special person to thank. Of course, I thank my family, especially my dad, who is the coach. But..."
Hayes looks at me nervously, but I mouth "your doing great" to him.
He nods, and starts again.
"My very special person is someone that I've been with since I can remember. She's always been at the games, and always helps me in difficult situations. And that's why, my best friend, Jamie Hayden, is my special person."
Everyone claps and I hold back happy tears.
I smile and get up to walk over to the stage.
I walk up the stairs and Hayes hands me flowers.
Should I give him a kiss on the cheek?
Ugh, hurry up Jamie!
Instead, I give him a hug and take the flowers.
I'm not ready for that yet.
