" girl. Gimmie this!" Jasmine gritted her teeth, snatching Devante's shirt from my hand. " I'm tired of this nigga and he ain't even here."
" Yeah he's not here because of me. Just let me hold his shirt-" I reached for the shirt.
She pulled away shaking her head, " No. It's your birthday and you're crying over a no good nigga. He probably getting head right now from some random."
I scrunched my face up in disgust, covering my ears." Sheila baby just please help me understand. Why are you so stuck on him. Stephen treats you way better than Devante ever has." She threw up her hands.
" you don't understand. He's better than what I say he has good intentions I promise."
She rubbed her face in frustration, " We are going somewhere today."she softly grabbed my arm helping me up.
" Where?"
" I don't know but go on and take a shower. We need to go somewhere have fun like old times."
" alright mama." I walked to my bathroom.

" spare change?" A homeless man with tired eyes continuously shook his cup of money. The desperateness was evident in his shaky voice. I wanted to help him out and bless him with cash but all I had was exact change for some liquor.
Forgive me but I need a damn drink maybe somebody else will bless his pockets.
I kept my head straight as I walked pass him but by mistake I accidentally adverted my eyes to his direction.
" Change?" He looked at me.
" I'm sorry man I don't have money on me." I lied
He rolled his eyes, " broke motherfucka "
I kept walking, furrowing my eyebrows.
Maybe he ain't say what I think he said.
I walked in the corner store and went straight to the drink cooler section.
Their selection ain't as big as the corner stores back home but whatever is cool.
I looked around debating if I should just get a bottle of Hennessy or a 40 oz. Once I looked at the difference in both prices I scoffed, " 40 oz it is." I mumbled to myself.
I grabbed it and turned around bumping into someone, " shit nigga you made me drop my starbursts-"
I looked up to see one of the most beautiful females I have ever seen in my life.
