I ran ahead when I saw Xavier writhing on the ground but froze when I got near. I noticed bite marks that looked like mine in his arms and neck. Burn scars also covered his arms and legs and went down his cheek. He was lying on his back, gripping the ground and gasping for air. I took a step back. "Did I do this?" I whispered and Xavier looked over then put a hand out, his eyes were glazed with pain. Suddenly he lit up in a blaze of fire and screamed then I looked down to see a box of matches in my hand. I dropped them.

I jolted awake. I gripped the bed sheets as I gasped, trying to calm my heavy breathing. I heard Xavier groan beside me and he sat up. "I'm here, you're okay," he said in a groggy voice and rubbed my back. "Alec-" he started to say but I hugged him and gripped his shirt. He sighed, "Nightmare?" I nodded. "Wanna talk about it?" He asked and I made a small sound. He let out a small chuckle and kissed my cheek when I pulled away. "I-It was about you," I murmured and he gripped my shoulder. "I'm right here and I'm not leaving-" he paused then gave me a smile, "-my little cub." I narrowed my eyes and looked up at him. "What did I say about you calling me that." He laughed and I huffed and crossed my arms.

"Have you ever thought about w-what would happen if I- uh- lost control of my powers?" I asked reluctantly. "No, cuz it won't happen." I frowned and he gripped both of my shoulders. "If That were to happen it would've a long time ago," he said, trying to reassure me but it wasn't working. "O-ok," I muttered and he pushed me back down. "Now sleep, it's midnight, man," Xavier complained and laid back down, curling up into me. I smiled and put an arm around him, kissing his cheek. "Love you," I said and he nodded. "Love you too."
