Steve's pov

It's now or never, Time to tell the story of the aftermath of the crash.

"Remember when I told you that right before your accident we just got out of a mini vacation?"

"Yes I do. What about it?" She asked, staring at me intently.

"When we were at the plane, I can feel that something is off already. You were saying some things like something terrible is about to happen, you made me promised. We hugged each other like it will be the last time. When we landed, I offered to drive you home but you kept insisting that you can do it on your own... If I only knew what's about to happen, I would've stopped you." I recalled. Remembering her last words still pains me, it cut deeply.

"What happened after that?" She mumbles, her tears threatening to fall. I sighed and starts telling her the events right after the accident.

flashback 6 years ago in the hospital.

"What happened? Where's my daughter?" Helena asked hyperventilating

As soon as she received the call, she immediately wake the whole family up and rushed in the hospital.

"Ma'am I- Natasha got into a-an accident. The doctors h-hasn't come out since the time I-i got here." Steve stammered, fear shown in his face.

"H-how did this happened? I told you to take care of my sister, didn't I?!" Clint shouted, grabbing Steve in his collar. Wanda was quick enough to stop his brother's rage.

Wanda hugged his brother's waist, pulling him away from Steve. You can see thw vulnerability in her eyes. "Stop please. Nat wouldn't like this, let's just calm ourselves and pray." She said softly yet scared. Who wouldn't? Her sister just got into an accident.

Clint let go of Steve and sat down between Yelena and Wanda. Holding her little sisters close to him. On the other side, Helena's being embrace by her husband. Her face doesn't show any emotion yet her eyes are welling up, sign that she is terrified for her daughter. Ivan kept a straight face.

No wonder where Natasha got her intimidating look. The way she put on a brave facade but deep inside she's a soft hearted woman.

Several hours later, the doctor finally came out.

"Family of the patient named Natasha Romanoff?"

Helena and Ivan rushed in front of him, "We're her parents. How's our daughter?" Ivan asked formally.

"Sir, due to the powerful impact of your daughter's crashed earlier, She had hit her head pretty badly causing a hematoma in her brain." He explained.

"Hematoma?" Yelena interrupted.

"Yes. Hematoma can also be known as blood clot. However we had proceed in the surgery because it might cause a serious damage in her brain's tissue. We have some bad news and good news--"

"Of course there's that bad news and good news..." Wanda mumbled sarcastically.

"Which should I deliver first? The good or the bad ones?"

"The bad ones." Helena answered.

"Apparently your daughter faced a traumatic event, There's a brain activity and sign of life but unfortunately we don't have any idea when or will she ever wake up, I'm sorry." Their face fell down. Steve's heart dropped, guilt hits him like an ocean waves.

"And the good news?" Ivan asked after a while.

"The good news is the child is safe and sound. The baby is a fighter just like her mother bu-"

"Wait hold up! Did you said baby?" Clint butted in.

"Yes a baby. She's pregnant but then if the time has come and she's still in deep sleep, we have to deliver the baby other way around. Is that alright?" Helena was so shocked to the point that she just nods her head.

"Congratulations again, Excuse me." The doctor excused and made his way. All eyes are on Steve and he felt more bad. She impregnated her girlfriend... The worst part is they're so young, not that they can't raised the child but you know how parents feels about it.

"So you impregnated my daughter..." Ivan stated lowly.

"S-sir I-" Steve was about to explain himself but Ivan had punched him already. He didn't fought back because deep inside him he knows what he'd done. He became so irresponsible, he should've known better.

He expects the Romanoff's to throw him outside of their Natasha's life but he was wrong... He thought wrong.

"I expect you to be more responsible now that you're becoming a father. It's not a job that you can just quit, it's a lifetime job. It's your duty to protect my little heir or else I would set your house on fire." He threatened. Steve's unable to speak or at least try to make a response. He had expected the worst.

"You're not mad?"

"I was. But I can't throw you out of their lives, besides you heard what the doctor said. It can take a while."

Steve received a hug from Yelena and Wanda, "Congratulations! We're going to be an aunt!"
