A Delta's Delta (Book 4 In Equaliser Series)

Chapter 1

As the dark brown wolf's eyes fluttered open Sparrow stepped back in shock as he felt their connection. His tail started wagging furiously as he looked at the treasure that was his mate. Though his excitement faded when he caught the look in the other wolfs eyes. 

Sparrow's ears drooped as he caught the look of fear, nervousness, confusion and disappointment in his mates eyes. Why was his mate disappointed to find him? Pushing those thoughts aside Sparrow motioned for his mate to follow him. 

"Alpha's I have found a lone wolf, he is my mate, I'm bringing him to the pack with me" Sparrow spoke into the mind link so that his pack mates knew not to attack his mate. 

"Congratulations Sparrow we can't wait to meet him" Damon replied before the mind link went dead.

As his mate stepped out of the hollowed tree Sparrow's wolf growled in his mind as his mates scented surrounded them. The contrast of Sparrow's light grey fur against the dark brown of his mate was amusing. Bounding away a few paces Sparrow gestured for the other wolf to follow. Sparrow watched in confusion as his mate scented the air at the border before shaking his head and trotted up beside him. 

This behaviour confused Sparrow but he decided he wouldn't press the issue just yet. Something was going on with his mate, Sparrow could sense it due to how alert the other wolf was. Following the trail, he had made Sparrow lead his mate back to his cabin that was a few doors away from the omega village. His dads had asked if he wanted to stay in the packhouse but Sparrow enjoyed his own space.

Nudging the door open with his nose Sparrow barked over to his mate and then stepped aside so he could enter. Sparrow whined happily as his mate brushed against him as he walked into his home. Turning around Sparrow placed his paws on the door closing it to the outside world. He could have shifted back to his human form to close the door but where was the fun in that. 

Snorting in amusement at his actions Sparrow turned away from the door and walked over to his room. Shifting as he did so Sparrow sighed as he walked to his wardrobe. Picking out a set of clothes for himself and his mate. Putting on his own set before leaving the room. 

Whistling to himself as he carried the clothes to his mate. Sparrow spotted his mate sitting next to the window looking out of it his ears pricked to pick up any sounds. Tilting his head to the side Sparrow approached his mate being careful to step purposefully to make sure the other wolf knew he was there. 

"Here I have some clothes for you, I'll make you something to eat shout if you need anything" Sparrow spoke as he laid the clothes down next to his mate before leaving to the kitchen. 

When he got to the kitchen Sparrow picked out sandwich ingredients and made a plate for both he and his mate. Walking back into the living room Sparrow's breath is stolen from his lungs as he laid eyes on his mate. 

He was about the same height as him with the same build, his mates hair was dark brown the same collar as his fur. It looked so soft Sparrow longed to run his fingers through it. Sparrow could not see his eyes as he was still focused on the window.

"I brought food," Sparrow said as he approached his mate. 

"Thank you very much, I'm Elliot who are you" His mate replied turning to face him allowing Sparrow to find out the collar of his mate's eyes they were greyish-blue. 

"My name is Sparrow, I'm the Delta of the frostfang pack" Sparrow introduced as he handed Elliot a plate. 

"Thank you for not attacking me" Elliot spoke as he took a bite of the sandwich finding the flavours overwhelming having eaten meat for most of his travels. 

"Your welcome, but I wouldn't have attacked you even if you weren't my mate" Sparrow replied noticing his mates reaction at the taste of a simple cheese and ham sandwich. 

"I'm glad to have found you I am, but I never wanted to find my mate and be tied to a pack. I have learned packs are stiff and rigid and take away your freedom" Elliot said as he finished his sandwich.

"I know what you mean but my pack isn't like that, I'm here cause I chose to be, heck I live here then instead of in the packhouse. If you were happy with your old pack you wouldn't have run away" Sparrow responded seeing right through his mate knowing that his mate was running from something. 

"I'd like to see that a pack where you can choose what you do. I think I'll stay for a while" Elliot announced knowing that the rouges at the border were being weirdly persistent.

"I hope you can find what you're looking for here with me" Sparrow whispered his fingers curling as his wolf urged him to reach out to Elliot. 

"I will only bring disaster with me" Elliot whimpered as tears gathered in his greyish-blue eyes knowing that he couldn't give into his own happiness or he would put his mate in danger. 

"Whatever comes I'm sure I can handle it" Sparrow chuckled resting a hand on his mate's shoulder squeezing him reassuringly. 

Elliot's reply was cut off as Brendon and Ian barged into Sparrows home along with his twin sister Harper and her mate Justin. And they even had his younger brother Allen with them. Sparrow groaned at the intrusion as he wanted to spend more time alone with his mate getting to know him. 

"You must be my Son's mate, I'm Brendon it's nice to meet you, this is my mate Ian" Brendon introduced as he bounced on his heels over to Elliot. 

"It's nice to meet you sir" Elliot replied putting on a smile for his mates family. 

Sparrow could only watch in concern at Elliot's guarded interaction with his family. He knew now that Elliot was here his life was about to get a lot harder but nothing worth having ever comes easily.
