Chapter 14

"I love you" The whisper of Elliot's voice in his mind was louder than the battle raging on around him. 

Sparrow felt it the moment Elliot left the territory, the pulling at his soul to make sure his mate was beside him and the pain of being apart when they had gotten closer. Sparrow had scented the change in Elliot and he had a suspicion as to what caused it. 

As the fighting ceased Sparrow followed Elliot's scent. First, he came to two dead rouges one of which had its head ripped clean off and the other lying on its back with its entrails all over the forest floor. Elliot's scent was all over them meaning it was he who killed him. Sparrow had never thought Elliot to be capable of such brutal kills given that his mate seemed to dislike fighting unless it was necessary.

Sparrow then followed Elliot's scent away from the main fight where another two dead rouges were strewn on the forest floor. His lips pulled back in a snarl as he scented the alpha who took his mate away from him. Preparing to run after them Sparrow snarled as he was knocked to the ground by Dimitri.

"He has my mate damn it" Sparrow snarled in the mind link snapping his jaws at Dimitri. 

"I know, but we need a plan" Dimitri growled not liking being disrespected but understanding his friend's pain.

"Screw a plan, I promised to keep him safe" Sparrow snapped as he slipped away from Dimitri to run in Elliot's direction only to be blindsided by Damon.

"Stand down" Damon growled curling his lips in a snarl as he held his tail high in a display of dominance. 

"Please let me go" Sparrow whined as his wolf kept pushing to take over. 

"We can't let our friend rush off to get hurt, the wolf you are facing is an alpha and no matter how strong you are, you need a plan to get him back" Dimitri spoke softly as he walked over to his brother.

"I promised him, he'd be safe with me" Sparrow whimpered his tail curling and ears drooping as he gave up on trying to get past them.

"We'll get him back" Damon promised as he nudged Sparrow back in the direction of the packhouse. 

As he walked back to the packhouse between his friends Sparrow's mind wandered to Elliot and his heart twisted painfully. Sparrow knew he could've died if he went alone and he was thankful that his friends had stopped him. As they got to the packhouse Sparrow realised that some of the warriors were injured. They had won against the rouges but it had cost Sparrow everything.

"Sparrow, are you alright. Where's Elliot," Harper asked as she ran over in lose clothing he skin still soaked in blood.

"He was taken" Sparrow whispered in her mind as he passed out. He hadn't realised the extent of the injuries he had taken while fighting and it would take a few hours for them to all heal.

When Sparrow woke up he was in his human form on one of the pack hospitals beds. Kicking the covers off Sparrow groaned as his body protested the quick movements so soon after waking up. But he gave it no mind as he jumped out of the bed his mind racing as he thought about Elliot.

"Good your awake" Brendon spoke as he entered the room, it pained him to see his son this way and he would do all he could to help.

"I have to go get him" Sparrow whimpered as his wolf forced a whine through his lips.

"I know and we will let's go over the plan with everyone else first," Brendon said stepping forwards and catching Sparrow as he fell. 

"Why do I feel so weak," Sparrow asked as he stood on his own two feet.

"You sustained a lot of injuries from the fight and your wolf is working too hard to heal you quickly because he wants his mate back as much as you do" Brendon explained softly letting Sparrow lean on him as they left the room.

Sparrow could feel his wolfs effort as he healed the last of his ribs. He had no idea how many hours he had slept but one thing was for sure he wasn't going to rest again until Elliot was safe in his arms. As they entered the alphas office Sparrow's eyes roamed over the wolves who had gathered. 

Damon and Dimitri, Harper and Elijah had gathered. And with himself and his father, it was a party of six high ranking wolves to challenge a disgraced alpha for Elliot. Tears gathered in the corners of Sparrow's eyes as he realised his friends and family were willing to get hurt just to help him get his mate back. 

"Now that we are all here let run through the plan again for Sparrow's sake" Elijah spoke into the silence immediately taking charge of the room.

"Yes sir" Everyone chimed as Brendon closed the door behind him and Sparrow. 

"Alright, Damon, Dimitri and Sparrow will go to find Elliot, I have full confidence in my sons and Sparrow to get Elliot. Meanwhile, the rest of us will deal with those who were injured in the earlier attack and make sure the bodies of the rouges are dealt with" Elijah explained with animated hand gestures.

"We have no time to lose Sparrow has been asleep for two hours and we have no idea what's happening to Elliot" Harper stated a growl in her chest as she couldn't go with her brother to get Elliot back. 

"I've been asleep two hours" Sparrow exclaimed panic clawing at his gut as he knew the danger Elliot was in. 

"We leave immediately, everyone is dismissed" Damon ordered as he realised Sparrow was close to charging to the alpha without them.

As he ran through the forest in his wolf form with his friends and alphas Sparrow's heart hammered in his chest as lept over logs and weaved through trees. Sparrow could only hope that Elliot was still somewhat ok.

"I love you, and I'm coming," Sparrow thought to Elliot hoping his mate would get his message.
