THIRD ERA, 433.

CYRODILL, IMPERIAL CITY SEWERS.

Once upon a time, there were two shield-brothers.

The first shield-brother was an elven man gifted in the art of Necromancy.

His name was Drith Dalorne.

He had white hair, often pulled back into a ponytail, and glowing red eyes. He had a distinct burn scar covering half of his face.

He wore black satin clothing adorned with skulls and bones, and he brandished a silver scythe and a skull-adorned staff as his weapons.

The second shield-brother was a water giant, a blue reptilian humanoid that excelled in frost magic and natural healing abilities.

His name was Calms-the-Tides.

He had blue scales covering his entire body with pale green fins protruding from the back of his head, his eyes were light frosty blue and his teeth shone like stars.

He wore tribal armor adorned with precious stones and silver, his sole weapon was a frost-attuned staff.

Although they were not related, they both viewed each other as brothers since the time they had been assigned to each other as shield-brothers.

Drith and Tides casually strolled through the Imperial City streets. They were joking and laughing, and occasionally pointing at others roaming the streets as they laughed.

A girl, who was also of the reptilian humanoid race but a different species, noticed them and began to watch them intently.

She had pale white sickly looking scales with rounded toad eyes that resembled a greenish-brown color. Her head was void of any fins or feathers.

Mesmerized by the water giant, she stalked them, following them from a distance and ducking into alleyways and obscure places when she thought they took notice.

At one point she had followed them to The Poles, a ramshackle arena platform with a rough pad laid over the top of it for training.

Drith and Tides began lightly brawling with each other, cracking jokes and just having fun in general while they honed their skills.

The reptilian girl ducked behind some crates and barrels, peeking over the top and staring wide-eyed at Tides.

She pictured caressing his green fins atop his head, she imagined his strong arms wrapping around her waist.

Swampflies fluttered in her stomach, she thought Tides could be her true mate.

Her daydream was interrupted by a loud fart and she looked over her shoulder and saw an ogreish man pinching the back of his pants as he speed-walked towards the cemetery district.

She looked back towards the dueling pad and saw both Drith and Tides had left without her taking notice.

Panic set in her heart and she got up from her crouching position and began racing through the city streets, trying to look for them.

It began to rain and she ducked into an abandoned house, she fell to her knees and looked up to see a mirror in front of her.

She gazed into the mirror, looking at her bald sickly form.

She ran her scaly hand over her skull, staring at it.

It's not that she didn't want fins or feathers to grow, it's just that they wouldn't. She had tried various oils, ointments, and even alchemical potions but none of them ever worked.
