Peter's POV

As soon as dad leaves, I switch my form to Asgardian, and I hear his voice in my head. You may want to wear something more... Asgardian. Sure enough, a green tunic appears in front of me, and I shrug. Why not? We are at Asgard. It's surprisingly comfortable, and a guard guides me to the dining hall. "So..." I ask him "Do you, like, work here full time? Or do you just come in sometimes?" He looks down at me, surprised "I- well, usually I HAVE to be here, prince. It's my duty. Although, King Loki is trying to figure out ways to get us more freedom" "So, you're like a slave" "Actually, we call them Thralls here, but... Yes, prince. I guess we are" I sigh. "Please, call me Peter. And, maybe... Take the night off? Go hang out with your family" The guards eyes light up. "Really?" I smile "Of course" He returns the smile as we walk into the dining room. "Thankyou, enjoy your night!" I say, and he beams at me one last time before hurrying to leave.

I take my place next to my father, who is wearing similar clothes to me. On his other side is Brun, and other people I don't recognize sit at the other end of the table. Everyone starts staring at me, and I start to feel uncomfortable. "Hi?" I offer, and they start murmuring among themselves until Loki glares at them. Brun just looks uninterested and picks at her food. "Excuse me" dad says, and everyone turns to look at him. "This is Peter." He says, simply. "Hi" I repeat. Brun giggles, and looks at Loki. He smiles when he reads her thoughts. "Um, is this just a 'midgard' thing to talk at the dinner table or..." I ask, clicking my tongue. A few of the others smile nervously, but dad and Brun continue to eat their food. "Don't worry about them," Brun smiles at me "They're just anxious" I look around at them "Why?" Loki sends a bit of green light behind one of them and scares them "They haven't had a prince since everything went to hell" he says. I look down at my food, which is suddenly appealing "Oh." I bite into my food, and it's actually really good. I didn't realize how ravenous I was until now

Again, I start with my amazing sentence starter "Sooooo... Do you guys like chicken?" Loki snorts and Brun chokes on her food. A few guys look at each other like Is he joking? "And do you always speak shakespearean? Like I weareth a blanket on mine shoulders, and carryeth a large sharp sticketh 'round?" That gets a laugh out of a few of them, and slowly, everyone starts to loosen up.

Afterwards, I head up to the observatory, a place my father had given me directions to after dinner. I sit and stare up at the stars. Life isn't so bad, is it? My spidey senses alert me of something behind me. I whip around, but relax when I see it's only my dad and Brun (or Brunhilde, as her full name is, or Val. She told me at dinner) "Hey" Loki says, and drapes his arm around my shoulder. Val comes to my other side, and does the same. "I guess, I'll be your adopted mother" she says, smiling down at me. My eyes widen. A father figure, I'd had those. But a mother figure? May was barely around, and I only saw her as an aunt. Nat, she was my best friend, and Wanda, my sister. "Really?" I ask her, and her smile broadens "Of course" I grin. "Don't forget about me!" dad says, and I snort. "We're a family, now" he says. "The sun is finally shining on us again"

Sorry this was very short, especially for the last chapter, but... Should I do a sequel? I don't know what I'd write it about, but let me know if you have an idea (I'll credit you)
