6. Little Games

Those birthday kisses should never have happened. Not when Yeosang was still smitten with Yunho.

Yeosang was leading Seonghwa on, even though he didn't realise it completely, and Yeosang should have maintained distance so he could protect Seonghwa's heart.

It meant the world to Seonghwa to have kissed Yeosang on his special day, and twice at that, but he knew he wasn't the one Yeosang thought about at night, and it was because of Yeosang's own stupidity in telling Seonghwa he liked Yunho directly after they kissed, that the older never asked the younger out.

Maybe he should have though, maybe they could re-establish their respective personal boundaries if they did.

But boundaries had come down and new ones we're beginning to crack wide open.

Because of those kisses Seonghwa became more openly flirty towards Yeosang over the days, weeks and months that followed. It was almost as if Seonghwa was silently testing Yeosang to see how far he could push before the younger snapped and slammed on the breaks.

Yeosang had never felt any feelings for anyone other than Yunho in his whole time existing, but after that kiss Yeosang's heart began to beat differently. Seonghwa's teasing and increasingly flirty moves were doing something to him. Seonghwa was already a cheeky person by nature but now it felt like even more so.

It was like Yeosang had two guitar strings side by side each playing a different tune. The second string was ruining the beautiful melody he already had playing, and he should have cut it off before the tune got to loud, but for some reason he just didn't have the heart to.

So although Yeosang ignored Seonghwa's teasing as best he could and brushed him off as if he had lint on his shirt, he was still holding on, not shutting down Seonghwa completely like he should have.

Seonghwa would brush his hand against Yeosang's as he asked for a pen in class, Seonghwa would whisper softly in his ear asking how to answer questions in their classroom activities, he'd give him side long glances during PE when they were stretching, and he continued to curl up against Yeosang's shoulder or on his thigh to sleep at lunch, and Yeosang would protest a little, but over all he'd let him, allowing situations like this to happen again and again.

Over time each one of those actions chipped away at Yeosang's Yunho fortress in his heart.

Yeosang began to get flustered and his ears and cheeks would glow pink. People began notice this; how Yeosang would smile, giggle and give Seonghwa response's that made it look like he had a crush.

Yeosang was committed to the future he wanted with Yunho though, and he told himself over and over like a mantra that "It doesn't mean anything", when in fact each touch meant everything.

More time passed and Yeosang actually began to reciprocate Seonghwa's flirty attitude; Seonghwa had awakened Yeosang's playful side, and it became an unspoken battle between the pair to see who could make the other more flustered.

At first it would be simple things like the two boys staring at each other to see who would flinch first, they then stepped up the game and they would move closer and closer until their noses touched once again seeing who would pull away first, almost always Yeosang pulled back first.

They then started teasing each other with their hands a popular game being 'who can sit still the longest while I drag my hand up your thigh' or ' The Thigh Game' for short. Butt slapping was also another popular game, each boy chasing back and forth after the other trying to slap the others butt.

They'd practically normalised being intimate with never actually being that intimate.

Their friends were always saying they should date but they never did. They'd both met somewhere in the middle on whatever they had between them. One in denial and the other holding back.

They were so close an outsider would think they were boyfriends. But Yeosang never allowed them to get that far, he was always the one putting on the brakes.
