WE ALL WALKED ONTO THE SHIP AS WE RETURNED FROM THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS.

this was a stupid trip.

"ah, welcome back!" moseby greeted us. "did you enjoy your first excursion to the galapagos islands?"

"i couldn't believe it. there were penguins, and lizards, and snakes," bailey gushed.

     "oh my!"

i rolled my eyes. "cool it, dorothy. not everyone had a fun time."

"why, you didn't enjoy the crystal clear waters, or the diverse wildlife?" moseby asked me.

"or that unidentified and possibly lethal moss growing on that misshapen rock?" cody countered.

"well, no i did enjoy that," i pointed at cody. "but maybe i would've enjoyed everything else if i didn't have a poofy-haired, rock-brained, doofus breathing down my neck saying lizard puns the whole time!" i snapped as i began to squeeze the strap of my bag.

"hey, katie —" i threw my head back and groaned as i faced woody, "— check out the cool shirt. 'i-guana hug.'"

     "i-guana strangle you."

"aw, you guys are bonding over puns," zack threw his arm around mine and woody's shoulders. he turned to me and smiled. "how sweet."

i forcefully tugged zack down by his collar. "mhm," i nodded with a forced smile, "keep it up and you're next," i hissed before letting go.

"zack! you have a rare galapagos cricket on your arm. there's only four left in the world!"

zack immediately threw himself off of woody and i and started slapping his arm. "ahh! bug! bug! bug! bug! bug! get it off!" he started stomping on the cricket. "die, die, die, die! die!" zack walked off. "ew, ew, ew!"

"now there are only three left in the world!" i mocked cody's voice of awe in a nasally tone before following zack.

i laid spread out in london's bed, trying to tune out bailey and her as i fell asleep.

i had only gotten three hours of sleep last night. for some reason, i haven't been able to fall asleep for more than an hour since i've gotten on this ship, and it's really ticking me off. and i know it's not because of addison's sleep-talking habit. although it doesn't help.
