A/N: I apologize for my long absence!! The reason behind is:

1. Some accounts on Wattpad got hacked and I was worried I would be next (Stay safe everyone in more ways than one and check your accounts!),
2. Some problems came up at the school I was getting enrolled in ^^" and,
3. I got sucked into Haikyuu!! (I've only watched the anime and planning to read the manga) but I'm back now!

(Y/N)'s POV

"Don't let them get away!" a voice boomed as heavy footsteps echoed through the night. I hugged my knees as I wiped away my tears with shaky hands.

'Calm down...! They'll be back... For sure...' I reassured myself, peeking through the bushes.

One thing led to another, and now I was all alone by the gates. I watched the demons march out as sirens and alarms blared out, almost making my head hurt from the volume.

"You guard the gates, I hope you can do THAT much... right?" a demon ordered to the other, making my heart stop. The other demon straightened himself as he slammed his spear to the ground, making me flinch.

The leader nodded as he ran off with other soldiers. When they were out of sight, the demon guard let out a sigh as he slumped against the wall.

"Finally, the jerk's gone... And I really wanted to get some shut-eye tonight too..." he complained, kicking a pebble.

"I hope you trip on your own feet and land on your face..." he muttered, sitting on the ground.

"God, it's been hours..." he whined, continuing to walk around aimlessly.

I raised a brow as I watched him lazily walk around his post. I tried to take a closer look, but I accidentally snapped a twig on the ground.

The demon snapped his head into my direction as he pointed his spear at me. I covered my mouth as I closed my eyes, waiting for the worst.

He moved the bush around and let out a gasp. I hesitantly opened my eyes and saw him look at me with a shocked expression.

Demon's POV

'Why is one of THOSE here!?' I thought, looking around. There weren't any guards in sight, making me groan in annoyance.

'That dumbass...' I cursed, looking back at the human.

Its eyes were closed as it shook in fear as if waiting for its death. I gulped as I felt bitter memories come flooding in my head. I felt my body loosened up as my gaze softened.

'Poor thing...'

I slowly knelt down and scooched closer to it, "H-Hey..." I called out, hesitantly reaching out my hand.

It flinched and tried to move away with what strength it had left.

"R-Relax! I won't hurt you! I don't even need human meat!" I explained hastily, surprising it.

'Why did I say that out loud!?' I panicked and looked around, sighing in relief when no one else heard that.

'Oh, boy... What should I do?' I scratched the back of my head before looking away, my hand still stretched out.
