Hitorijime My Hero One-Shots (Masahiro x Kousuke)

After School Guardian

     Kousuke never thought he would see Masahiro in one of his after school detention classes. Masahiro was scared to death of failing a class assignment, not even comparing to what Kousuke would have thought would have been his enormous fear of detentions.
So why- why was his boyfriend sitting in front of him in detention.
It was Masahiro's last year in school. He had gone all three years of his secondary school without getting into trouble, much less a detention.
Kousuke looked to Masahiro but he avoided the grey eyes coming his way. He looked like a sad puppy after you had yelled at him. It made Kousuke want to go over cuddle him until his smile came back. He couldn't though because they were in detention and well he knows how them being close in school went last time.
     "Well I guess we should get this started,"
     Kousuke sat on top of the desk next to Masahiro. He was the only one in detention. Not many kids got detention in this school because it was one that many kids solely focused on academics and didn't have a lot of time for much else.
     "This will only last an hour. And during that hour there shouldn't be any talking or sleeping. I have some practice sheets you should try your best to complete before the hour is up."
     Kousuke tried to look at Masahiro but he avoided his gaze and just sat quietly. Kousuke got the practice papers from his desk and handed them to the blonde. He started work on them quickly.
     Kousuke went back and sat behind his desk. He wasn't usually the teacher who handled detentions, the one who did was out on leave, but he was glad he volunteered to do it.
     He looked at the detention slip he had to sign for Masahiro after this class ended. The reason stated on it just said physical fighting with other students. Kousuke really couldn't imagine that.
     His Masahiro, physically fighting with other students? It just seemed impossible. But Masahiro sat there looking so guilty it made Kousuke toy with ideas of what would push Masahiro to have a fight with another student. There weren't any viable answers he could come up with.
     "Im going into the storage room for a minute. Just continue to work on the papers."
     Masahiro gave a slight nod without stopping his work.
     Kousuke walked into the classroom's backroom to grab some more paper. He knew Masahiro would finish the problems he had given him soon and he thought he could write down some more for him. The ones he had given him were for his age group but under Kousuke's personal teaching, Masahiro was a little ahead of his age group's average. Kousuke could test out some problems he was thinking of adding into class on the boy since it seemed as though Masahiro was admit to not even look at Kousuke. Kousuke knew that he probably felt more comfortable telling Kousuke what happened when they got back home.
     Just as Kousuke was about to walk back out into the classroom, he heard talking. But there were two voices and neither was Masahiro's. He stood behind the storage room door and listened.
     "Hey look at that- it's blondey stuck in detention." He heard a snicker.
     "Oh yeah! Thanks for taking the punishment for us again! I'm sure it's awful in there under Mr. Ooshiba's detection classroom rule." He heard more snickering. That was getting really annoying. Masahiro didn't respond to whoever was talking.
     "Oh come on! You're not even gonna say anything to us? Oh that's right you're not supposed to talk in detention; I forgot about that. You must really be a wimp to be afraid of talking here. Mr. Ooshiba isn't even in here!"
     There was more silence on Masahiro's part. Kousuke could only hear his pencil moving. Whoever was talking was laughing now.
     "I can't believe you're actually that scared! No wonder it was so easy to pin our fight on you! You were too scared to defend yourself then and you still are now!"
     Kousuke could hear one of them take a step forward into the classroom as he taunted Masahiro.
     "We should get out of here before Mr. Ooshiba gets back." The other one there was speaking up again.
     "Hmm, yeah you're right. We should let this pushover get back to his hour-long suffering while we get to go home!"
     Just as the last word was said, Kousuke sprang out of the backroom and headed for the two who were talking. Masahiro and the two jumped when he came out. Kousuke could see that Masahiro's eyes were glossy like he was holding in tears and that he didn't recognize the two boys standing at the classroom door.
     The one who was farther in the classroom tried to turn tail and run once he saw Kousuke, but he fell into the second boy standing there and they tumbled onto the ground. Quickly Kousuke was standing in between them and the door.
     "The conversation I just heard was quite interesting. Well it was more of you two just insulting one of my innocent students." The glare on his face was sharp. He hated when students messed with his students, but especially when someone messed with Masahiro. The two boys on the floor could only stammer and gape.
     "What I heard was that you made my student here take the blame for a fight between the two of you. And I will make sure you are properly punished for that."
     Kousuke picked the two up by the collars and called to Masahiro that he would be back in a few moments.
     He marched (more of dragged) the two boys to the principal's office and told him exactly what had happened between the two boys and Masahiro.
     He found out they were two first years who had nearly gotten into the school through the dean and their parent's influence. They fought constantly and one more would have gotten them suspended. So as Masahiro was walking to the lunch area, he ended up in a hall with just the two boys who had had another fight. They took the chance to call a teacher from the new staff and blame everything on Masahiro. The teacher didn't fully believe them, but it was those two against Masahiro and so he had to sie with two. He let him off with just an hour detention.
     Kousuke came back to the class after the two boys were given a swift suspension and their parents were called. He knocked on the door frame.
     "Hey Masahiro." Masahiro looked up and met eyes with Kousuke for the first time.
     "Kousuke... I'm sorry."
     "Your first word this entire hour and it's to say sorry. There's nothing to be sorry over Masahiro; I'm sorry for keeping you here almost the full hour." Kousuke walked over and patted the boy's hair the way he knew Masahiro liked.
     " It's alright. I didn't really speak up. I was just afraid you'd be disappointed in me for getting detention or not being able to defend myself. Even after all of the help you've given me in defense." Masahiro leaned his head towards the man's chest.
     "I'm not disappointed it wants something you could prevent. And I don't think the self-defense moves I've shown you could really have been of much help in that situation." Kousuke laughed as he helped Masahiro stand up from the desk.
     "How about we head home together and get you some rest."
     "That sounds great." Masahiro gave him a smile and Kousuke smirked.
     "I mean we could do other things than just rest in bed too since Kensuke is at Hasekura's tonight." Masahiro blushed and hit Kousuke's chest.
     "Just sleep...for tonight." He moved away to grab his school bag and head to the door. Kousuke grabbed his bag and followed along.
     "Aww fine- wait 'for tonight'?"
     Masahiro walked faster with a laughing Kousuke trying to follow up quickly.
