Masahiro had just gotten out of school and was walking home. He wasn't really in any hurry to get home, even though it was Friday, so he walked slowly thinking about random things.
"I wonder if I could visit Kousuke later?" Came up in his thoughts but he brushed it away, he didn't want to seem clingy, though Kousuke had told him countless times that he could come over whenever he wanted to. Masahiro didn't know he would see Kousuke anyways today.
When Masahiro got home his mother wasn't there, it didn't surprise him, she never was.
He walked to his room and closed the door behind him. He sat his things down and sat himself at his desk, beginning his homework.
About three hours later Masahiro heard the front door slam shut. He could also hear somethings a son should never hear from his mother. He knew she had brought another client home. He tried to ignore it and go back to his homework, it worked, for about an hour.
He had fallen asleep at his desk when he was suddenly awoken by someone opening his bedroom door. He jumped up only to see a man he didn't recognize, he reeked of alcohol, cigarettes, and familiar perfume, the one his mother would wear to meet her clients. Obviously this man was one of her clients.
"Excuse me... but who are you?" Masahiro asked timidly. The guy was big and definitely scary.
"I should be asking you that."
"I am her-" He was about to answer when two hands grabbed his shirt collar and started to drag him out of his room.
"Please stop it! Let me go!"
He tried to resist but to no avail. He tried to get the mans hands off him when a loud slap resounded in the other wise silent house. Masahiro's head wrenched to the side and he could taste a little blood in his mouth. A bruise started to form as well.
"Shut up brat or you'll wake her, she's sleeping peacefully." Obviously, but's it's not like she would have done anything about this if she was awake.
"You don't belong here." The man opened the front door and threw Masahiro out onto the platform in front of his apartment. It was cold and raining heavily.
"Don't ever come back, you brat." The man slammed the door and locked it. Masahiro sat there for a second and shuddered. He was only wearing a thin night shirt, thin pajama pants, and was barefoot. He didn't even have a phone or any money.
The wind started to blow harder.
"Where do I go now? I can't sit in the park in this weather... the only place I can go is the Ooshiba home. I really hope someone is up."
Masahiro got up and started running, he had the path to the Ooshiba home memorized. The wind only picked up, and it started to thunder, raining harder.
Masahiro's body burned and screamed at him to stop running but he kept going. He was running and stepped into broken glass shards, making him fall and scrape both knees. Now he really wanted to just stop and lay there, but he imagined Kousuke's cocky grin and him saying
"You can do this Masahiro. I love you." He managed to get up again and kept going.
After what felt like forever, but was probably only a few minutes, Masahiro could see the lights coming from the Ooshiba home, Some one was up!
He willed himself to go faster, he got to the door and knocked softly. All his fatigue hitting him at once as he stopped, then everything went black.
Kousuke had been up all night. He had tried to get some sleep but this wired nagging feeling kept him awake, he felt like something bad was going to happen.
He was sitting on the couch watching the news on the T.V, there was a loud crash and rumble of thunder, the storm outside was bad. It was the start of the weekend tomorrow so he didn't have any classes to prepare for.
About thirty minutes passed before Kousuke heard soft knocking at the door. He got up quickly, the nagging feeling turning into full on dread.
He opened the door only to look down and see none other than his lover, Masahiro, collapsed in front of the door panting heavily.
He felt panic rise in his chest as he bent down to pick the boy up. Masahiro was deathly cold, soaking wet, and there was crimson red on his knees and left door.
After closing the front door with his foot, Kousuke ran Masahiro upstairs, careful not to jostle the boy around too much.
Kousuke laid Masahiro in his bed and got medical supplies from the bathroom. Kousuke changed Masahiro's soaked and dirtied clothes, changing him into one of his own hoodies and a pair of his sweat pants. They were too big for Masahiro, he was swimming in them, but they kept him warm.
Kousuke cleaned the scrapes on Masahiro's knees and wrapped up his foot after removing what Kousuke found to be glass. He looked over Masahiro one last time and noticed a dark bruise on his cheek. He cringed. Whoever ever did this wasn't going to get off easy when Kousuke found them.
Kousuke climbed in the bed with Masahiro, spooned him, and pulled the covers over them. Kousuke still couldn't sleep because of how cold Masahiro was, it was worrying him, but soon Masahiro woke.
"Hello sleepy head." Kousuke whispered, seeing the boys eyes flutter open.
"Kousuke? Kousuke!" The boy turned over and hugged Kousuke tightly, stating to cry.
"Masahiro it's ok, you're safe now, I've got you."
"Kousuke I so was scared."
"I know, and I'm sorry for not being there, but do you remember what happened?"
"Yeah... my mom brought home a client and then- then he- he, threw me out of the apartment after slapping me." Kousuke couldn't have felt more angered then at the fact that a stranger hurt Masahiro and his mother hadn't done a thing. But he could help Masahiro now, so he kept his composure.
"I'm sorry Masahiro, I'm really sorry. I'm glad you're ok. I found you passed out in front of the door."
"Thank you for helping me Kousuke, I didn't know where to go until I thought of here." Kousuke leaned the boy's head up gently and kissed him softly.
"I'm glad you came here, I love you Masahiro." He smiled at the boy and Masahiro gave him a weak smile back.
Masahiro snuggled closer to Kousuke and into his chest.
"I love you too." Kousuke wrapped his arms Masahiro and held onto him, he kissed him on the head.
And with that the two fell into a peaceful sleep, knowing that they will always have each other.•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
