Small Picture

Chapter 1

It was a bright and early morning. Birds were chirping, the sun was already out from the ground below, it was a nice day.

There was no noise anywhere. The only noises were the sounds of bacon on a frying pan while sizzling.

A little 10 year old pink hedgehog who goes by the name Amy Rose, who was in the living room that was by the kitchen, watching TV. She was watching her most favorite cartoon series. It was about a super cat who saved the world. Her name was "Super Molly!"!

Sure, the name wasn't unique, and it didn't sound like a super cool and stylish name, but little Amy couldn't care less. She was just happy to watch her defeat bad guys every day early in the morning.

"Mommy! What is for breakfast?" The little hedgehog asked her mom while looking at her with her knees on the couch. The TV were having commercials, so this brought Amy a lot of time to talk with her mom and have breakfast.

"I am making pancakes and bacon! Isn't that wonderful?" Amy's mom had said smiling while flipping a pancake over to the other side of the frying pan.

"Really?! Awesome! I absolutely love pancakes and bacon! Is it with my favorite orange juice?" Amy got up and started bunching up and down with excitement!

Her mother put down the spatula she was using to make the pancakes and bacon, and opened the fridge door that was next to her. She then took out a carton of orange juice that had a rainbow on it. "Of course you will be able to have your favorite orange juice!"

Amy squealed in excitement and rushed to the kitchen table to sit down and eat her breakfast! She sat in a chair where it showed the TV, so she will be able to watch her favorite cartoon while having her favorite breakfast! She could not have been more happier!

Amy's mom, Lucia, grabbed a plate and a glass cup from the cabinets. She started pouring Amy's orange juice and started putting two pancakes and a handful of bacon on her plate. She topped all of the food off with a small square butter on top of the pancakes.

Lucia then took the plate and glass cup, and started walking towards her daughter with them in her hands. She carefully placed down the plate and cup, and put a fork next to her so that way Amy wouldn't have to eat with her hands.

As the little pink hedgehog started eating away while watching her cartoon, loud stomps where coming from downstairs. It was her sister, Amia! She was still in her pajamas, but she seemed so excited...

"Mother! Tomorrow is my birthday and that is the day I get my picture!!!"

"Oh I know sweetie! I am do excited and happy for you! Do you have any person in mind for who you want to match with?" Lucia said hugging her almost 16 year old daughter.

Amia giggled and said, "I have a few people in mind!"

Amy was confused on why she was so excited to turn 16. Amy thought that she was excited because she will be able to get gifts, and cake! But that wasn't the case....

"Um...mother...?" Amy said looking up at both her sister and mom.

They both looked at her, and her mom asked her if she needed something.

"Um...what is Lucia so excited about? Is it because she gets to have a cake? I love cake!"

Amy's mom started to walk over to her and she put her hands on her daughter's shoulders.

"If I tell you now, you wouldn't understand. You are still so young to know. But maybe when you are grown up, I will tell you." She then gave Amy a little kiss on her head.

"What! Can I please know now?! Please oh pleasee!!!! I really want to know!!" Little Amy pleaded and pleaded.

Lucia looked over at Amia for her opinion. Amia nodded her head yes, meaning she wants her mother to tell her little sister about why she was excited.

The mother sighed and looked at Amy again.

"When someone turns 16, the get a small picture on their hand, in this case, it will be on your glove. If someone has the same picture as you, both of you are soulmates!"

Amy looked at her mother confused, and grossed out.

"Ew! Love? That is disgusting! Never in my life will I fall in love!" Amy said shaking her head.

"Trust me, once you are grown up, you will."

Amy Rose thought about it more and more...she wondered who her soulmate was...

Amy was really intrested in this, and was ready to be 16 years old!
