Chapter 8

Sonic's POV:

After a long day at School, I was finally happy to be going home on the bus. This day seemed like it dragged on forever and ever. It was like there was no end to it at all.

Tails's doesn't ride the bus home, but instead he gets picked up by car from his dad. His mom works until 10PM at night, so he doesn't see her that often. His dad however does work, but he works from home, and he is always available to Tails anytime that he needs him.

It is weird to think that Tails finds all of this normal, like he thinks it happens to everyone. I mean, he is right that a lot of families probably have the same situation going on with them like Tails is. It is just odd to think that not everyone will have both parents with them by their side. But you shouldn't question them for it, it could be offensive in a way.

But anyway, I was riding the bus home by myself, which was fine since I do it everyday. And I can also have the bus seats to myself. All I did was just look out the window and have a good view of the outside world.

"Psst! Hey...!" I heard a voice behind me calling out. Well, it was more of a loud whisper, like people around us could hear, but whatever.

I turned towards behind my bus seat and looked over it to see who it was. It was a silver-ish hedgehog with golden eyes. He wasn't a stranger to me though, I recognized him.

"Hey, aren't you friends with Shadow? The one who is a total idiot."

He sighed and looked down. Then he looked over at the bus driver and then quickly moved seats so he sits next to me next to me.

"Yeah....I am. Which is the only thing I am known for at school, "Shadow's friend" he barely even mentions good things about Knuckles and I. We are just like his own little sidekicks."

"Well why are you friends with him in the first place? You seem much nicer than he is. It doesn't make sense."

"I am friends with him because he needed someone "nice" so that way people would think he is not a bad guy and that he has some feeling in him. When he asked me, I couldn't decline his offer becuase I had no friends at the time."

"So you basically forced yourself into a friendship? That is just sad. Your name is Silver, isn't it?"

"Mhm that's me."

It was a moment of silence for a while, but then I remembered something.

"What did you need me for?"

"Oh yeah!" Silver reached for his backpack and pulled out a card then handed it to me.

"Shadow is having a birthday party on Saturday and wanted me to invite you. Which it weird considering he hates you."

"Yeah...that is weird.."

The bus stopped and opened its doors.

"Oh, this is my stop, see you later Silver." I waved him goodbye while getting off the bus.

I started walking home excited because my parents were going to tell me something! I just wanted to know super bad.

"Mom, dad, I am home!" I yelled out closing the door and locking it.

My mom and dad were in the living room, sitting down on the couch, it seemed like they were waiting for me.

"Sonic, can you come sit with us for a moment please?" My mom asked of me.

I walk over and sit on the couch that was diagonal from them. They didn't say anything for a while.

"Sonic, we have to tell you something." My dad said.

"Well, what is it?"

My parents both looked at each other and than looked at me.

My dad took a deep sigh, and said, "You see, you have this, uh thing where when you get really mad, or just super aggressive, your blue fur turns dark, and your eyes become white."

"Woah! That is so cool! Can I try it now? Can I?!" I am super excited to try it out!!

"NO!" My mom got up and yelled at me...

"YOU CAN'T CONTROL IT! WHO KNOWS WHO WILL BE NEXT!!!"
