Chapter 2

Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

A blue hedgehog was running outside of his own backyard around in circles. It was his most favorite thing to ever do! All he wanted to do was run, run, run!

And the reasoning for that is, he was a really fast hedgehog! He is faster than the speed of light itself! This little hedgehog goes by the name Sonic! He lives with his parents and he is an only child!

Well, not technically. He had a brother named Manic who he played with so much. But when Sonic and Manic were only little, something happened to him...Sonic doesn't know what since he was too young to remember. But everytime he would ask his parents, they would tell him to not worry about it.

But besides that, Sonic still lived his best childhood and always tried to make the most of it!

The blue hedgehog went back inside his house after running around a lot, and he went up into his room to play with his toys.

Sonic ran up the stairs and opened his door. His room was a regular room boy room that had action figure posters, he had a remote control race car, he also had a puzzle that he would always put together, but then break it apart the next day just to do the cycle all over again.

Sonic loved all of his toys. He grabbed his toy robot and his city he made out of home supplies, and started playing with them.

He was playing his favorite game with his toys, he never really had a name for it, but he would make the robot pretend to stomp on the city, and he would go and save everyone! It isn't original, but Sonic never cared, he just wanted to have lots of fun!

He fell on the ground and laughed at how silly he thought he was being, but after that, he started to get hungry and he wanted to get something to eat! Maybe a chili dog or something!

The little hedgehog started going down stairs until he heard his parents talking. He didn't want to interrupt, but he did however want to listen. He thought about it for a while, and decided to sit down at the top of the stair and listen his parents talk in the kitchen.

At first, they started talking about normal boring parent stuff like taxes and bills. Sonic was about to leave until he heard the word "Manic" in a sentence. He kept quiet and got a little closer to hear better.

"You know sweetie, it is Manic's birthday! He would have been 16 today, you know what that means" Sonic's father said taking a sip of his coffee.

16?! Manic and Sonic were 6 years apart?! Sonic was confused and did the math in his head, if Sonic was 4 when he was little, that made his brother 10! The hedgehog always thought that him and his brother were the same age....but what made him more confused is that is was Manic's birthday!

Sure, Manic and Sonic were really close, but he was never told when his brother's birthday was.

Sonic shook his head to get himself to stop spacing out and continued to listen to his parent's conversation.

"I know what you mean. I have always wondered what his picture would have been, or who would have been with him for his life of growing up. But all of that is tossed in the trash.."

"Come on, everything will be alright. Sonic was too young to know what he did was wrong.."

Okay, Sonic was now definitely confused! He wondered what his dad ment by, "he was too young to know what he did was wrong."

"I know he was. But, when do you think we should tell him? We have to tell him one way or another."

"We should tell him tomorrow. But we have to do it in a way where he won't be scared of himself."

"Alright."

Sonic heard them walking to the stairs, and he quickly dashed to his room and closed his door quietly, but fastly.

He tried to think about what his parents were talking about...but he just couldn't put the pieces together....

I guess he will find out tomorrow.....
