Sonic's POV:

There really wasn't much happening with this week. It is just the same thing every time, I go to school, I talk to Tails for a little bit, Shadow picks on me, I go home. Life really has been borning...

It is only Wednesday, but it feels like it has been 100 years of school work. I mean, I guess I could ask my parents to go to Shadow's party, although I am still confused why he would invite me. But it's still a birthday party, so why not.

I went downstairs and I didn't see either of my parents there. They must be in their room...

I walked back upstairs and went to knock on their room door, it took a few seconds for one of them to answer. They just called out for me to come in. I opened the door and saw it was only my dad in the room.

"Hey dad, were is mom at..?"

He looked up at me and smiled with his eyes closed.

"Oh, she is at a work meeting right now! Whatcha need buddy?"

"Well...there is this birthday party I'm invited to, and I was wondering if I could go!"

He took the invitation that I handed him and he looked at it. On the back of his hand was a picture of an orange, mother had the same picture, so I always thought they had matching tattoos or something.

He handed me back the invitation and said, "Sure kiddo, of course you can go! We'll buy a gift on Friday after school, then I'll drop you off on Saturday, sound good?"

I was beamed with happiness and nodded my head yes! I walked out of his room and went back to my room, it was weird how I was excited for a birthday party, especially since it was Shadow's party, but I kind of shrugged it off and thought nothing of it.

After just staring off into space, I remembered something...the picture on dads hand...

I always thought of them as tattoos, or something like that, bug I have noticed other older people have it as well...it was weird to me, but I want to see why so many people have it.

No one at my school has it, some teachers and other staff members do, but not the kids...

I grabbed my phone from my night stand and started to look it up. I found this article about it, and to be honest, when I first read it, it was amazing and weird.

I mean...to even think that people are able to identify their soulmates by a picture on the back of their hand is crazy. I guess that is how most parents were able to get married.

But I still had one more questios that just sat at the back of my head....

What if you kill your own soulmate....

Would I even want to know the answer to that dark question?

Have other people thought about the same question...
