Bi-Han's POV- Much to our relief, Hanzo's people are getting better after completing and giving out the vaccine. While Kuai and Hanzo are out hunting for the feast tonight, I'm tasked with taking care of Zodith.
Despite the fact that she is a fire breathing flying beast, she acts more like a child.
She cannot speak the human tongue, but she makes it a mission to have her say in things, which amuses Kuai greatly.

Her diet mainly consist of meat, that's what Kuai told me. Although she prefers seafood over red meat.
To pass the time, Zodith and I go into Kuai's library. He has way too many books. But he did say I could borrow any of them whenever I liked, which excites me. With Zodith on my shoulder, I look over the shelves.

Books on languages: Old Norse, Japanese, Spanish, and other languages that have been lost to time. Texts on history, wars, plagues, victories, and lost colonies. I end up picking out the book on the Titan War, and sit at the table.
****
I didn't realize I had fallen asleep. I wake up to see Zodith had fallen asleep on the table, curled up near a pile of books. Someone—either Kuai or Hanzo—had put a blanket over me. The scent of meat and spices cooking in the kitchen wakes Zodith up, sniffing the air.

Stretching, I get up and motion Zodith to follow. She does happily, hopping on my shoulder.
Outside of the library, the smell of dinner gets stronger. Some type of meat, probably mutton.
I walk into the main room where the throne is. I've never see Kuai sit on it, I realize, glancing at the black chair that had been carved from stone.

The closer I get to the dinning hall, the clearer I hear....laugher and the sizzling of roasted meat. Upon entering, I see Hanzo making small talk with Fujin. They both look at me when I enter.
"Hello, Bi-Han." Fujin smiles.
"Evening," I nod back.
"Dinner is almost ready." Hanzo states. I set Zodith down, asking, "Where is Kuai?"

"He should be back soon. Said he needed to get a few things before the feast." Answers Fujin.
"How are your people, Hanzo?" I ask gently.
He smiles sadly. "Quite a few were saved. There were casualties, of course. History isn't history without casualties....But I am glad they are safe. We plan on rebuilding the empire soon enough."

"Good to hear," I respond, hearing Kuai walk in.
"You're awake, brother. Perfect timing." I can tell he's smiling by his tone of voice.
He is carrying a sack that looks somewhat heavy. "I ended up going back to that cave system under Shadow Canyon," He grunts, setting the sack on the table with a thump. "You won't believe what I found."

"Gems?" I guess, seeing Zodith fly up on the table and scamper over to the sack, sniffing it.
"Even better," he looks genuinely happy. Excited, almost. He opens the sack to reveal two dragon eggs.
"Woah," Hanzo gasps.
I stare at the two of them. They are both around the size of footballs, with the one closest to me being pale blue with dark blue spots scattered like stars.
The other is a yellow-red color, like the setting sun.

"How...did you find these?" I ask. "I stumbled upon them while looking for gems to sell in the market." He explains. "They are yours."
"Huh?" Both Hanzo and I say in sync.
Kuai smiles. "I am giving you each a dragon egg. It's my way of saying thank you for not giving up on me."
I look back at the blue egg, wondering what the dragon will look like. "So," he muses, walking over to the counter to grab plates. "Are either of you hungry?"
