Chap 8: finding our fifth member

*next day*
"Are you still sure to ask Ryder today?" Jasper asked as I nodded to be honest he can say no or yes and I have my fingers crossed it's a yes.

"Yep he's our chance at being in that race" I replied as they agreed I was excited and scared for the race tonight.

"How are we going to train him without him noticing?" Ivy asked man I didn't think about that probably I was just going to wait to see if he said no or yes and go from there.

"Do it when we are free like on the weekends or after school?" I asked as they nodded

"Let's hope his car can keep up with us" Wyatt said as I forgot about his car and he would have to wear a suit so he didn't look weird while we were all in suits.

I was sitting in English doing the work that was set for us while Ryder was on his phone texting who knows but I didn't care it was none of my business. I pushed my glasses up on my face and continued working when I felt someone take the paper and pen from me and began righting as I looked to see Ryder working wow this is a first.

"I can do it you know" I said as he didn't look at me but continued to work.

"Yeah but it's a partner work so we kinda got to do it together" he said as I looked at him last time there was a partner assessment he did nothing to help his partner.

"You excited for the race?" I asked as he looked at me then back at the work.

"Yeah Im excited hopefully I can kick someone's ass" he said as I smiled before he pushed the paper back infront of me.

"Finished" he said as I looked to see he had them all correct wow the bad boy was smart after all.

"Thanks" I said as he had a small smile on his face.

"It's okay" he said as the bell rung and I placed the paper on the teachers desk before I walked out of class and out to my car before I hopped in and drove off home. Once I got home I parked my car and walked inside.

"You excited for your race tonight?" Mom asked as I nodded and grabbed a apple from the fruit bowl.

"Yeah" I replied as I walked up to my room and got changed into my racing outfit and putting my hair up. I walked back to the kitchen before I grabbed my keys and kissed mom on the cheek as I ran out the back to see dad and Xzavier.

"You going to the race?" Dad asked as I nodded and he opened the shed.

"Be careful okay" he said as I nodded and grabbed my helmet and put it on the passenger seat as I walked over to the drivers side.

"Wish me luck" I said as they smiled and I hopped in and started my baby up before I drove out and off to the street race fingers crossed Ryder says yes.

I pulled up at the race and parked my car as I slipped the visor down and hopped out and stood next to Ivy, Wyatt and Jasper.

"Have you guys seen Ryder yet?" I asked as Wyatt nodded.

"Yeah he came in a bit before you he's over there" he pointed as I looked at the others.

"Ready to do this?" I asked as they nodded and we began to walk over to where Ryder was with his mates. As we approached him all his friends stopped talking and looked at us.

"Hey could we borrow Ryder for a minute?" Ivy asked as the boys nodded and Ryder came with us so we were all in like a circle.

"So why did you guys want me?" He asked looking at all of us.

"You've heard of the forestford500?" Jasper asked as he nodded.

"We are willing to make a proposition" Wyatt said crossing his arms over his chest.

"We were wondering if you would race with us in the forestford500 now the proposition is you race with us we give you a racing suit like us and a car and in return you don't tell anyone not a soul" I said as he looked shocked.

"Wait so let me get this straight you want me to race with you and you will give me a car and a suit and all I have to do is not tell a soul?" He asked as we nodded.

"Exactly you can tell people your racing in the big race but the whole idea for the suits is to keep our identity hidden" Jasper said as Ryder nodded.

"So do we have a deal?" I asked putting out my hand as he took it and shook it.

"Heck yeah" he said as I smiled even though he couldn't see it and we walked off to our cars.

"Oh thanks" he said as we waved and he waved back before we reached our cars.

"Can shredder and Dan please come to the starting line" a girl said as he hopped in his car and drove to the starting line.

"Ready" she said.

"Set" she said.

"Go" she said as they drove off now I just need to tell dad.

"How are we going to get him a suit and a car?" Ivy asked me as I shrugged.

"I don't know I just really wanted him to join our team so we could race but don't worry I'll find out how to get that" I said as she shook her head but I didn't care dad could help.

Once the race finished and Shredder won I got home and and I parked the car I took my helmet off and walked inside to see my parents watching TV as I sat down on the couch.

"Hey how was the race?" Mum asked.

"Good I didn't race but Jasper did and I was wondering if I could talk to you?" I asked as they both looked at me like I murderd someone.

"There's a big race called forestford500 and I was wondering if I could race I already have a team an-" I was cut off from my dad.

"Yes" he said as I looked at him in shock.

"What?" I asked as he laughed.

"Yes you can race in that race because I know how much it means to you and I'll train your team to be the best" he said as I gave him a massive hug.

"Thankyou thankyou thankyou" I said as he laughed.

"It's okay now you should go to bed you have school tomorrow" he said as I nodded and walked up to my room before I stripped and hopped into my pjs and hopped into bed now I just needed to find out how to get a racing suit and car for Ryder.
