Cory's POV

Ever since Miranda died that night, word got around at school and everyone knows how people jumble up the story by the third time someone tells it and pretty soon I was getting comments around school like:

"Murderer"

"Sister killer"

And pretty soon everyone hated me. Of course a few would defend me and by a few I mean my parents. They heard about the constant harrassment and bullying, so they called the school and told the principal. It didn't do much though, sure they stopped for a while, but a few months later I was in class and I had been working day and night on a science project that was due the next day. I was fixing something on my board when the schools asshole, aka Jordan Hilburn, walked by and picked up my board and slammed it on the ground.

"Oh would you lookie here, yet another think you let drop to the floor and you couldn't get to in time to save it. Sound familiar Wilbur?"

After that happened the talking and bullying happened again. I had been so depressed I had to go to a therapist until I felt strong enough to bare it. Jordan never let it go though, till this day he's been messing with me. Whether it be physical or mental, he found someway to toture and hurt me.

Chad's POV

I never thought my life could get any better! Well I know how it can, making Cory mine, but that's all in good time. For now he was my partner in this assignment and I was beyond delighted. He didn't say much and didn't seem like he was too fond of me, I just hope one day that'll change.

"Yo Chad!" Josh waved his hand in front of my face. I blinked a few time and looked at him.

"What?"

"Dude you've been in lala land for the past 5 minutes, you okay, man?" He looked at me concerned.

"Oh, yeah I'm fine. Just thinking about this assignment I have to get started on. I should probably go, it's kinda late and I have homework to do." I put the controller down on Josh's coffee table and stood up checking my phone.

'11:00pm'

Great.

mom's going to kill me.

"Alright man see you tomorrow." He said not taking his eyes off the TV screen. I rolled my eyes.

'Such great manners' I thought myself as I walked out and to my car. I drove home and carefully unlocked my front door and barely opened it to my size and slipped in and gently shut the door. I looked around the dark room and sighed in relief that no one caught me. I slowly started to creep up the stairs.

"Hold it right there young man." I groaned and shut my eyes hoping whatever that noise was, was my imagination.

"Where have you been?" My mother's stern voice ringing my ears and I turned around opening my eyes and giving her a nervous small smile.

"I was at Josh's, we were playing Xbox and I guess the time jusy got away from me. I'm sorry, won't happen again." I looked at her hoping she'll let it slide.

"Damn right it won't happen again." She nodded her head towards the stairs. "Go to bed you hooligan."

I sighed in relief and chuckled and kissed her goodnight and walked up to my room. I stripped of my day clothes to my boxers and slid under my sheets letting the soft fabric sooth my skin.

I thought back to today. Cory Wilbur was my partner in the project and hopefully one day he'll be my partner in love. With that thought I smiled and closed my eyes letting sleep take over me.
