Cory's POV

'Beep beep beep'

"Ugh" I groaned slapping the alarm clock to shut it the hell up! I hate mornings if you couldn't already tell. I debated whether or not I should get up or not. I mean it's only senior year, nothing important. Note the sarcasm.

Groaning I reluctantly get up and go to the bathroom. I turn on the shower and peel off my pjs and hop in the shower. I sigh once the warm water trickles down my cold back and the water wakes me up a little more.

I turn off the water after I'm all cleaned and dry off and wrap the towel around my waist and stare at my reflection in the mirror.

I'm not what you would call muscular. I have a skinny body, never able to get that muscular frame no matter how hard I tried. I have jet black hair that's shaggy and hangs just below my ears and across my shinny green eyes. I'm not very tall around 5'8 at the most. I guess you could say I'm attractive, I get compliments on my eyes all the time, it annoys the hell outta me. I don't see the big deal, they're just eyes people!

I sigh and walk out of the bathroom and back into my room. I have a decent sized room, lime green walls and a full sized bed pushed up against the wall with black and green covers (my favorite colors) and black curtains over my windows with a wooden desk underneath and a bed side table and that's located....yep! you guess it! right next to my bed. Nothing too fancy, but hey that's how I like it. I do have books scattered all over the place, whether its school books or just plain entertaining novels. I'm a book worm, I love reading.

I've read all the way from Moby Dick to Harry Potter.

I get dressed in black skinny jeans and a green hoodie with black converse, yeah I know so unpredictable right?

When I'm satisfied with how I looks I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen, to see my mom at the stove and dad sitting at the table with the newspaper. Who reads the newspaper anymore?

"Who reads the newspaper anymore dad?" I said voicing my thoughts.

"I don't know, who?" my dad replied sarcasm clearly dripping from his words and a smirk plastered on his face. I simply just stuck my tongue at him, making him chuckle in response.

"Oh shut up Tim" my mother said coming to the table with eggs and bacon. Dad just chuckled and went back to the daily news.

"Mornin' mom" I said kissing her cheek and sitting at the table.

"Mornin' baby doll, sleep well?" she asked putting eggs and bacon on my plate.

I simply nodded in response diving into my breakfast.

What? A boys gotta eat.

"Well that's good, your first day of school is today"

Oh no.

Please don't cry, please don't cry, please don't-

My pleading was interrupted by my mother giving me a bone crushing hug and sobbing into my shoulder.

"My baby's a senior!" she wept.

"Mom...can't...breathe!" I wheezed out.

"Mary, you're crushing our son" my dad said still reading the paper, not even trying to save me from my sobbing mess of a mother, who's hugging the daylights outta me. Finally she let go and I took a deep breath clutching my chest.

"Wow thanks for the help dad" I said sarcastically.

"Anytime son, I'm always here to help" my dad smirked. I glared at him and my mom simply just rolled her eyes.

"Whatever" I muttered clearly not having a witty remark. He noticed and his smirk only grew.

I finished my breakfast, kissed my mom bye and waved to my dad and walked out of the house to my car. Not ever missing the faint wailing coming from my mother when she cries.

"My baby's all grown up. Tim! do something dammit! make him 6 again!"

My dad just sputtered totally lost at words on how to respond. I just chuckled and got into my small, red, beat up ford truck and road to hell...I mean school.

I may love reading, but sure as hell don't like going to school. Sure I get all A's, but that doesn't mean I wake up everyday just so excited on going to a place where people push me into lockers, spit on my shoes, or my all time favorite! pulling out my chair from underneath me.

I arrive at school 10 minutes later, I grab my book bag and get out of my car. I walk up the steps till I'm facing the school sign, reading 'Shepard High School' in bold black letters. And our mascot a Shepard dog statue in the centre of the court yard with a fountain and flowers surrounding it. I just stared at the statue till I felt a pair of eyes starring at me. I casually look around until I'm captivated by the bluest eyes, even though they were across the court I could see them clear as day. I looked at the owner of that magnificent eyes and my heart stopped.

Standing there was none other than

Chad Dillon,

The athlete, nicest (well so I've heard) and most good looking guy in the whole school. And he was starring at me! the nerdy book geek and shyest person ever.

Why? I finally came back to reality when I noticed our gazes were still locked. I blushed and quickly tore our gaze and walked into the building, with only one question swarming my brain.

'Why was Chad Dillon starring at me?!'
