3 different ice breakers, 2 different system tours, and 2 hours later, I was finally approved into the system. I was supposed to use and I met all my colleagues. I hadn't met my boss yet and was quite pleased with that. I heard she was quite the witch when you're alone.

Moving on, all my colleagues are quite nice and I'm actually heading out to lunch with them soon. I glance at the clock and see its 3 PM. Finally. I have a hunch that these people already ate, but they're going out to lunch with me to find out whether or not I'm a kind boss, or just fake.

Glancing around my office, I could see gray stone walls, gold accents, and a modern stone desk with a nice computer in the middle. I began packing my bag and grabbed my wallet for lunch. I walked into the hallway trying to avoid the boss's office where I could hear yelling. Whoever she was yelling at... I did not want to be them.

"BOO!" I jump and swivel around to be faced with Sam, the receptionist I had met this morning. I sigh in relief and just give him a small glare.

"You know, I could've had a weak heart, or had some kind of problem and you scaring me would have triggered my death. Hmmm." I sassily say.

"Mmmmm well I am your best friend so I'll be the one who'll give you CPR." He winks at me and drapes his arm around my shoulder. I just narrow my eyes at him and shrug his arm off my shoulders.

"Since when were you my best friend, and since when were we this close Samuel, hmmm??"

"Since now. Come onnnn I'm starving. Oh hey, Jace!" Sam waves over one of my colleagues, Jace, with his group. Jaces' group includes Stacy: my main rep, Elaine: my salesperson, and Andrew: my second salesperson. They begin to walk over as they wave at me and smile. I awkwardly smile back while Stacy comes over and begins to converse.

"Sam," she whines, "stop flirting with our new boss." She gives him a playfully stern look to him.

"She's my new best friend to back off a woman." Sam playfully growls as he drapes his arm around my shoulders. I give up on trying to push his arm off and just sigh in response. Jace walks over and pulls me out of Sam's death hug and I can finally breathe again.

"Let's go have lunch guys. I think my stomach is going to start speaking instead of my mouth soon." I laugh and they join in.

That lunch felt really welcoming and I immediately felt connected to my team, which I really appreciated. I felt like I might just fit in... That's until they walked in...

"Oh god, they're here." I hear someone in the cafeteria say.

"What do they want?" someone else responds back.

"Ok, creepy... Why is she following him like a dog?" I look up from my salad and glance at Andrew.

"Who's following who, what?" He glances at me and shakes his head.

"I'm sorry you have to meet these two today."

He just points to his left, and there walks a tall man with a woman running after him. Neither man nor woman looks too uncomfortable to be doing this chase in the middle of the cafeteria. I look at the woman and she looks as pissed as a child being teased by their sibling.

Everyone continues watching her until she finally yells, "I'm done with this Alexander! I'm not going to continue handling this! It's your job and it's about time you helped me out!"

I'm completely shocked and look at Jace who doesn't look fazed. Sam just stares at me blindly and then turns his head back to the man who's supposedly Alexander. Alexander turns to the woman who he was just walking with his back to and glares at her. I don't know how she's still standing straight.. Oh wait, she's not. She looks like she's about to fall to her knees and begin to beg for forgiveness.

I look at the group and they all look annoyed. I would be too, but since I'm new here, the story is all just a blank page in my mind.

"Liz." I hear Elaine mutter and turn back to the table. She brushes her dark brown hair over her face and just looks down. I'm assuming 'Liz' is the woman who was just screaming at Alexander.

Looking back at the scene, I notice Alexander stalking out of the room with Lucy walking timidly behind him. I watch Alexander closely. He seems a bit familiar.. but who was I to notice that man. He stalks out, but not before looking around the room. And yes, just like in every cliche romance novel our eyes meet. Those grey eyes... It's him!

I gasp, "That douche!"
