Chapter 23

His look unnerved me to the point where I started to panic in a fear that he had seen me do something last night. If he had, that would be the end of my dignity and my career in this company as well. Wait, but if he had seen me, he would've just told me that I'm fired for acting like that on a company vacation, right?

Phew, I began to calm down knowing that he wouldn't have just let me off the hook like that. On top of it, I just really hope he didn't see me twerking. That would've definitely gotten me fired. Wait, where's Liz?

Shaking all of these quite terrifying thoughts out of my head, I got into the elevator to go back to my room. Maybe I could catch a quick nap before this stupid bonfire the company is holding.

"Oh hey!" I turn to the familiar voice next to me.

"Hey! How are you?" It was Ivory, the girl I had met coming out of my apartment building with her mom.

"I'm doing ok! What a coincidence, are you on vacation?" She asks and smiles.

I see that she's wearing a loose orange-tinted dress. Her brown, almost looked golden skin practically glowed in the elevator light, and I'm not a creep but she looked really pretty.

"Not really a vacation," I chuckle, "I'm here with a company."

She looked shocked.

"Really?! Same here!" After a couple of minutes of us chatting, we figured out that we actually work in the same company and that she's Alexander's sister. Smiling at her we walk out of the elevator laughing and chatting. She was quite funny and entertaining to be around, even though she was the sister of the CEO she doesn't abuse that power and works just as hard as the other workers do.

"How'd you start working here?" She asks. I explain what drew me to work in the company and I instantly knew that we would be friends. She began telling me about her boyfriend and how he was the sweetest person she had ever met.

"I just can't believe I got so lucky with him. He's the most caring person ever! I introduced him to my family after us dating for a year and most of them adored him. Except.." I raise an eyebrow,

"Except what...?" She coughs slowly and looks away as if in deep thought.

"Except Alex." I shook my head as if asking why. She just says that Alex thought he wasn't fit for her.

"I can't believe that he would just tell me that he didn't like him at dinner. Alex literally whispered over to me that he thought my boyfriend was even fit for me. I understand his concern but he's perfect." I shook my head and began to speak,

"Hey Ivy, by the way, can I call you that?" She nods in response. "Well, like I was saying Xander is just looking out for you and only wishes you the best. Maybe if you talk with him you can make him understand that your boyfriend loves you and you guys are meant to be together." I finish and realize that she was intently staring at me.

"What?" I ask. She chuckles and says, "No wonder Alex was so intent on me meeting you." My eyes almost bulge out of my sockets.

"Excuse me?!" I sputter almost choking on my spit. She full out laughs while we near my room. We stop as she leans against the wall laughing her ass off. I just scoff and look away mock offended.

She turns back to me and just says, "Your face! It *cough* was *cough cough* PRICELESS!" As she goes back into her laughing fit. I roll my eyes but start to laugh as her laughter was contagious.

"Nat, my brother is smitten with you. That dinner wasn't just to introduce my family to my boyfriend, it was my mother's way to get him to spill what or who *she wiggles her eyebrows* got her son walking around almost in a daze." I scoff and look at her with a bored look.

"Oh please Ivy, he's not "smitten" with me," I cross my arms.

"Mhm," she says. "Anyway, this is my room she points to the door next to mine." I broadly smile.

"Of course our rooms are right next to each other, how about I introduce you to my best friend tonight," I offer. She smiles and nods in agreement.

"Well see you tonight then Ivy," I say. She mock salutes me before opening her door and slipping in.

I have a feeling T and Ivy will make great friends.
