I sat there in my car as Sam took my shocked expression as his cue to leave. I watch him get in his Honda Accord and speed off down the street. I sat there staring at the place where he was just standing trying to mull everything over. First, he's there to talk about Mark, then he gets all mad when he hears about what Mark did to me, and then he tells me that he really cares about me? Does he care like friendly care or an 'I like you' crush type?

What has my life come to? I groan and smack my head on the steering wheel a couple of times. Maybe that'll make this nightmare go away quicker. I start my Toyota and begin my drive back home. I have classes tomorrow, so at least I don't have to see Sam and deal with this awkward situation. But, on the other hand, I have to figure out what's going on with Mark.

Once I reach home, opening the door, I only see a bouquet of flowers on the floor with a card next to them. My name's scrawled on the envelope. I open the envelope as a card comes into view with the writing,

Dear Nat,

Your cuteness knows no bounds, your beauty has no limit, you are the only woman in the world to which I will commit. I look at you and gasp in awe, wondering how you're mine. You take my breath away my dear. For you, I'll serve my time.

Love, Mark

I was amazed at how sweet the letter was and how he remembered my favorite type of flowers.

"I hope you liked the poem." I look up and see Mark at the end of the hallway in a tux with his hair all made up. I slowly make my way towards him with my head held high but also trembling hands. I didn't know how to act around him. I knew he lied, but him trying so hard to make it up to me for not coming home last night, was too hard to stay mad at.

Once I reached him, he pulled me into a tight embrace and sniffed my hair which I found a bit weird. But then again, men are men so I don't know. I hugged him back and when he let me go he smiled.

"Welcome home honey. I hope you had a wonderful day at work, now get ready, we're going on a date." He says and grins. His dimples popping out with his pearly whites stealing the show. I grin just as big as him and give him a peck on the cheek, before scampering to our room to get changed.

Tonight was going to be the night I ask him where he was. But, what's the harm in just taking in this opportunity and enjoying our date. Seeing that he was wearing a tux and a tie, I decided to go fancy as well. I wonder where he was taking us. I only hope we have a nice time and nothing gets in the way. Maybe this messed up day wouldn't end so bad after all.
