Jason stared at Alvita for a few seconds as she held out the blunt wraps in front of him. He hesitated about taking one. It wasn't that he couldn't trust her, it was just that... He couldn't believe it. An older lady like Ms. Alvita actually offering him some blunt wraps for him to smoke marijuana.
"You want me to..... take... one?" Jason asked
Alvita smiled at Jason. "Yes darling, that's why I'm giving it to you."
"But... I'm gonna smoke... weed." He said.
"I know darling..." She said while smiling.
"That's bad Ms. Alvita." Christy said.
"Omg!" Jason said.
"How old are you dear?" Alvita asked Jason.
"I just turned fourteen on April." He said.
"See, he's just a kid Ms. Alvita, he should not be smoking that stuff!" Christy said.
"Omg bae please." Jason said as he rubbed the crease between his forehead.
"Well I think it's all about perception dear, and how you look at it?" Alvita said.
Jason gave a short pause as he stared at her. "Elaborate please..." He said.
Alvita pulled over and parked her car.
"Well personally to me, I see nothing wrong with smoking it. But that may be because of my upbringing, all my life I was around in Kingston, so I kind of see it as a normality. But others might view it differently than me." She said while still smiling.
Jason nodded his head slowly as he stared at her. "I feel you..." He said.
Christy placed her hands on the back of Alvita's chair in the car and pulled up.
"But Ms. Alvita he's only fourteen!" She said.
"You think he's too young darling?" She asked.
"Yes! I know he is." Said Christy.
"He's married to you correct?" She asked Christy.
"Yes." Said Christy.
"Well how do you see him as a husband, do you think he's too young to be married to you?"
Christy sat back on the chair and she thought about the question that Ms. Alvita asked her. How was Jason as a husband?
Jason was... He was... Jason was great as a husband! She loved him and he loved her more, even though she didn't know it. Christy couldn't imagine her life without Jason, it was inconceivable. Sure Jason lies to her, he betrays her trust, he plays her, he's always making jokes, but at the end of the day... Christy needed Jason. She needed him, his warmth, his touch, his crude sense of humor. Everything about Jason, Christy needed. Jason always has a surprise up his sleeve for Christy. Everyday there's something new with him. The thing that Christy loved most about Jason was his shamelessness. She still remembered that time that Jason knelt down on the floor to apologize to Christy at school, and all the kids were watching. Also the time that Jason kissed her in front of Roxanne and Violet in the morning at the school cafeteria. Also the time that Jason told her that they were going to be together forever and kissed her in front of Mohammed's parked Black Sedan. Jason had no shame whatsoever! Even though she criticizes him for that many times, she found that to be very attractive for some strange reason.
"He's... great." She answered truthfully.
"Does his age act as a type of barrier in the relationship?" Alvita asked.
Christy thought for a minute. She didn't want to lie. "No..." She said.
Alvita looked at her and smiled and didn't say anything.
