The cat-boy... or, todo, left just before Inko got back. Izuku awkwardly showing him to the door when his nap was done and he was more awake.
"...thank you for having me.." Todo slightly bowed when they were at the entry way. So it seems he was only very cat like when he was tired?
"O-Oh.. u-um, yeah..! ..may I ask what your name is? You mumbled it so I didn't really hear you earlier.." Izuku smiled awkwardly once more.
'Todo' paused before sighing gently, tail flicking behind him. "..it's Shoto Todoroki."
Izuku made an 'ah..' noise as he connected 'todo' to his real name, Todoroki. "W-well.. um.. well, my name is Midoriya Izuku.."
He nodded, expression oddly stoic. Shouldn't he at least spare like.. a smile? Or.. at least something that would help Izuku's unease?
"I should be getting home, thank you for your kindness." Todoroki muttered.
He then turned, walking himself out,
"..leaving me to just process what the heck happened!" Izuku finished his rant to his mother who giggled softly. Izuku was finishing setting out napkins and washing dirty dishes from the night before so they could have bowls for dinner.
"At least he wasn't completely mean. It'd be different if he stole something or hurt you.." Inko reasoned, dishing out the rice into a newly washed bowl as she also filled another up full of katsudon.
"Well still-!"
"Wasabi, dear?"
"No thank you mom." He smiled at his mother a bit. "I guess you're right... but what if he comes back?"
"Then you could say you have a new friend. You seemed fine with Fluffy when she did this." His mother humored, brining the food to the table as Izuku washed his hands one last time and brought over chop sticks.
"But she's different, she was a stray cat- cat. Like a real cat! No half human half cat-"
"Neko." His mother supplied him with the word which he shouted as if he had been looking for it.
"-Neko!""Inside voices Izuku."
"Sorry-" He apologized as he shoveled some rice into his mouth. Izuku chewed and swallowed before continuing to speak. "It was just so weird.. like he could have at least said like, 'sorry for breaking into your house' before he left!"
"You said you invited him in." Inko smiled in amusement as his son paused, food half way up to his mouth.
"Well, I mean he broke 'in' to the balcony..?" he made quotation marks with one hand as he finished a few noodle's journey to his mouth and slurped them up.
"Just eat your food, Izuku." She laughed, "There was no harm done."
The next day Izuku was on his way home from a jog, his mom home at the moment. He still was thinking of that Todoroki. The whole experience was just so weird..
He got home, smelling food cooking which was a bit odd as his mother normally waited from him to get home before she started to cook so he could help... though Izuku quickly figured out why, choking on his own spit when he walked into the kitchen and saw a familiar haflie sitting at the dining table.
"Oh, welcome home Izuku." Inko smiled at him, cooking fish at the moment. Izuku's eyes darted from her to the cat-boy in ever so slight confusion.
Soon he remembered he had a tongue and used it to almost wheeze out the main word on his mind.
" W h a t - ? "
