Caroline's POV

For the first time in my entire life, I was looking forward to public school. I begged my mom to take me back to school shopping, and I bought a bunch of clothes that would fit their "norm". I also bought one or two dresses that would fit my "norm".

I endlessly practiced my makeup in the mirror, copying videos from girls who seemed normal. I went out and bought a few extra wigs, just in case.

I knew I was dying. I knew I probably wouldn't make it to twenty. But I can't have that mindset, I have to make every moment count. I was determined to fit in with the normal girls at my new school.

Alas, the day finally came. I woke up at 5:00 so I wouldn't miss the bus that came at 6:30. I got out of bed, fed my frog, and got ready. I curled my wig, then straightened it again, and then curled it and gave up on straightening it so I let it be. I got dressed in a cute black tank top with a dark red plaid cardigan. I wore shorts that weren't too short- didn't want to get dresscoded on the first day- and added some black vans. I was kinda running out of time so I threw on some light makeup. I grabbed my backpack, house keys, and granola bar and kissed my mom goodbye.

The cool air once again wrapped around my face. I was feeling confident and I was feeling ready.

I hopped on the bus, smiling at everyone I could possibly smile at.

I needed to sit someplace, but where do I sit? There were so many different people who all looked intimidating and there were hardly any seats available.

I spotted a seat in the back of the bus, it was in the middle of a girl with dark green hair and another girl with brown hair.

I took a deep breath and walked over there, sitting in the middle of them. There was silence. Oh my gosh did I sit in someone elses' seat?

"I love your outfit!" The brown hair girl said.

Was she talking to me? She was looking at me.

"Thank you," I replied confidently, "I love yours too!"

"And your hair," I turned to the other side of me, "It's so unique! I love it. It really frames your face in a great way."

"Thanks," The girl laughed, "But it's from the chlorine in my pool."

The three of us started laughing super hard.

"I'm Amanda." The green-hair girl smiled.

"And I'm Sarah," The brown-hair girl said.

"I'm Caroline."

"And that," Amanda started, "Is Miss Drama Queen and her minions."

Bianca strode across the bus, in pink heels, on her phone while her minions followed her. I watched her say "hello hon" to all of her friends. She hugged this one guy and giggled with her friends and sat in front of us.

"Oh my gosh," She squealed, "I just couldn't decide between a white shirt or a pink shirt today. Like, it was such a hard decision. Also, I needed to like, match it with my lipstick you know? And like, my nails too."

"GIRL," Another blondie squealed, "I like, totally feel you! Where on earth did you get your nails done?"

I rolled my eyes and engaged in a conversation with Amanda and Sarah. We talked about our Christmas and compared class schedules. We talked about what a bore math class can be and they warned me about lunch time. They said that's the hot spot for drama. But not just any drama, Bianca drama. It seemed like Bianca was the popular enemy girl that everyone either loves or hates.

Finally we arrived to school. Amanda and Sarah helped me find my locker, and helped me figure out that darn combination lock. We said goodbye and that we'd see each other in Science class. They walked away and I started to put my books away in my locker.
