"Visiting Mary"
“Are you guys ready yet,” I yelled down the stairs.
“Yes,” Jason yelled back.
“Well give me just a minute and we can go,” I said as I pulled my hair up and grabbed my bag. I ran down the stairs and almost fell right into Jason.
“Miss me,” he asked with a smirk.
“Why were standing at the base of the stairs,” I asked as I righted myself.
“I was about to come up there and dragged you down,” he told me.
“I woke up late,” I said as I straightened my shirt.
“Uh huh. So you ready,” he asked.
“Yeah. Come on,” I said as I moved around him and got my keys off of the hook.
“So is this lady nice,” Jason asked as we got into the car.
“Yeah. She’s really sweet,” I said as I pulled out and started down the road.
“She’s helpful,” Luke said from the back seat.
“I just hope she can give us some more answers this time,” I said with a sigh.
“This is gonna be hard,” Jason said.
“I know that but I didn’t know how stressful it was gonna be,” I said as I rolled my shoulders.
“I don’t mean to stress you out,” Luke said from the back seat.
“You don’t. It’s just the situation,” I said.
“But look how much you’ve changed,” Luke said with a smile.
“Changed,” I asked.
“Yeah. You smile and laugh. You joke. You play with your sister. You’re already getting better,” he told me.
“I guess,” I said with a small smile.
“When I first met you, you were so depressed that you made me depressed,” he said.
“Luke you’re a good friend,” I told him as I looked at him through the mirror.
“So are you,” he said with a wink.
“What about me,” Jason asked.
“You are to,” I said as I glanced over at him.
“Am I better than Luke,” he asked.
“You guys are equal,” I told him.
