"Hey mom!" i answer the phone on the first ring. we've been in LA for a week, if you count the 38 hours it took to get here. we're spending two more days and then getting back to the real world.
"there's my girl! having fun?" mom asks me
"yes" i say cheerfully. the past few days have been heaven.
"Isla told me you're going to a club today"
"um....." shit. isla, the little tattletale.
"it's okay" she laughs at my obvious discomfort "just don't get drunk"
i smile at my crazy ass mother "i won't"
"and Naomi?" she says "use protection always hon"
"MOM!"
she cackles and then ends the call.
i tsk at her bluntness and get on with my clothing decisions.
*timeskip*
"HOLY HELL!" Lora exclaims when i walk up to her. "you look hot!" Isla adds and i compliment them too.
once we're in the club, after flashing our fake ids to the bouncer (and a little bit of persuasion), Lora heads to the bar and Isla heads in another direction to meet a friend.
i'm just gonna dance under the lights, enjoying myself.
some Becky G song is playing and i lose myself in the music.
that is, until i feel someone touch my ass.
"what the fuck?" i turn around and come face to face with a guy.
he's probably 25, pretty decent looking and most definitely drunk.
"aw,cmon babe don't stop on my account" he salaciously smiles.
i go to slap him but he grabs my wrist painfully. i wince.
"leave me alone, please" my voice is fearful.
he doesn't listen, pulls me close to his body and sways.
"get away from me!" my voice rises and a couple of people turn to look at us but do nothing.
assholes.
"bro, i think it's best if you do leave her alone or you're gonna get it" i look behind him to see a very intimidating looking Erick behind him.
