Ever since Dark showed up in my life, I always had this uneasy feeling that plagued me, but now that he's gone, I somehow feel ever more unsettled than before. I knew he wouldn't be gone forever. But I should take this time I have alone to figure out exactly what he is and what I'm dealing with. I'm not crazy and in order to make everyone believe that, I have to prove to them exactly what I'm dealing with.

(Bff/n)'s words kept playing repeatedly in my head. I bit my lip subconsciously as I pulled up my laptop and opened it on my desk. I was determined to settle this mess and find my way back to normal life.

However, there was a tinge inside me, a slight bit of grief tugging at my guts.
Good memories of Dark and I flashed ever so softly in the back of my mind.

-flashback-

"You're so sensitive-" he told me with a soft glance.
I glanced at him confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked and he immediately rubbed his fingertips along the underside of my foot, that was resting on him.
I giggled as I yanked my foot away.
"See?" He responded and I rolled my eyes.
"I think the word you're looking for is ticklish..."

-flashback end-

Thinking about the many moments we had, left me feeling a bit broken inside.

I began looking at one bedroom apartments, much like the one I'm in, instead of two bedrooms, not really even wanting him staying with or around me anymore.

I suddenly had another unwanted flashback.

-flashback-

I was walking down the street with Dark to a nearby store when a man, abruptly, bumps into me.

"Ow..." I squealed and Dark instantly helped me stand back up.

"Watch where you're going, airhead!" The man growled and Dark gave a very feral growl in return.

With a snap of his fingers, the man's shoelaces were suddenly tied together, and the man came tumbling to the ground as well.
"Maybe you should watch yourself!" Dark snapped at him as we began walking away.

I gave Dark a surprised look, my jaw dropped.
"You- " I gasped.
"Yep." He smugly replied.
"You devil!" I laughed as I playfully slugged his shoulder, he just softly smirks at me.

-flashback end-

I gulped as I tried to change my train of thoughts.

My mind was incoherent with thoughts of anxiety, worry, and him

I shook my head as I tried my best to concentrate.

However, another flashback took over.

-flashback-

I applied one swipe of lipstick, scowling at myself before immediately wiping it off.

"You don't like it?" He asked, lingering behind me.
"N-no. It looks ugly on me." I muttered. He could sense my sadness and moved closer to me.
"I think you look pretty either way." He spoke as he massaged my shoulders.
I giggled at the sudden touch.

"I like you a lot." He spoke softly. My heart melted.
"Even though you may not know everything about me- what you should know is that I really like you." He whispered near the shell of my ear. I shivered inwardly.

"Wear whatever makes you feel good about yourself. You deserve that." He stated and I looked at him with tears filling my eyes.

"Oh no. I-" he began to panic and I shushed him with my finger against his lips.
"No- it's nothing bad! It's just- that's the first time anyone has ever said something like that to me." I assured him and he nodded softly. He brings me into a tight hug. I felt like we could last forever.

-flashback end-

Now I was sitting at my desk, zoned out, regretting everything that I said to him last night, even though I was drunk.
He didn't deserve to be treated like that, he has done nothing to receive that kind of treatment.

I looked at the corner of my desk, there sat the item he gave me. A black ball that light up every now and then. He told me that I could speak to it, in case I needed him to come back. Like some kind of walky talky device.

However, I never really touched, until now.

I grabbed it and held it in my palm. It gave me a calm sensation. I took a deep breath, forcing a word to come out of my mouth.

"... ~"
Ring Ring Ring

My phone began blaring throughout my room. I instantly put the black pearl back where I had it before, then ran to pick up my phone.

"H-hello?" I answered.
"Hi, is this Y/n Y/l/n?" The voice asked.
"This is she."
"Great! This is Trina from Capital Warehouse. We have reviewed your application for the full time night shift and we would love to schedule an interview with you this week." They stated and my heart leaped for joy.

I had just applied for tons of jobs last night when getting fired yesterday, so I was a bit surprised that someone got back to me this quickly!

"Y-yes! I am available anytime!" I stuttered with excitement.
"Okay, how about this evening, three o'clock?" Trina asked and I smiled brightly even though she couldn't see it.
"Yes! That would be perfect." I replied and she hummed in agreement.
"Okay! See you then!" She assured before hanging up.

I did a little victory dance as I shouted with glee.

I would be working a night shift from 11:00pm to 6:00am every day of the week instead of Friday for that's my day off.
Even though I'm not really a night shift type of person, the pay of eighteen dollars an hour convinced me to suck it up and do it.

I was going to get a good pay and benefits, who wouldn't take the job. I'll finally be able to afford my car and even get that new apartment.

I felt like this week was going to be a good week now, regardless of Dark's absence.
