I sat at a round table, the surface cold against my skin.

"Sooo..." Bff/n dragged out as she sat across the table from me, two vanilla mocha lattes in her hands, handing me one by pushing it across the table.

I grabbed it with a soft thank you.

"...how has life been for you? You know- ever since you-" she asked, muttering the last part, referring to the awful memory of me getting fired.

"It's been fine. I- I gotta job elsewhere." I stated as a sipped on my latte, the coffee slightly burning my tongue.

"Woah! That's good!" She cheered for me and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Pays really good too." I smugly stated and she raised an eyebrow, expecting me to say more.

"Eighteen an hour." I whispered and her eyes lit up.
"Oh my gosh! I'm going to have to come work with you!!" She screamed and I shushed her.

I laughed at her enthusiasm.

"What is the job?" She asked as she calmed down.
"Warehouse." I replied and she tilted her head in thought.
"The only downfall is that I have to work a shift with this asshole named Carl." I muttered rolling my eyes.

Bff/n laughed at my statement and I was beginning to join in until my eyes landed upon a familiar face.

It was the girl Dark was talking to that day. The girl I still need to know about.
Her dark eyes were staring, better yet, glaring at me from across the café.
My eyebrows knitted together in confusion as I maintained eye contact with her, she carried a very dark and cryptic deepness in here eyes, similar to Dark's, as if they carried a gateway to different universes behind their oversized pupils.

*Snap* *Snap*

"Uhm- hello!?" Bff/n exclaimed as she snapped her fingers in my face.
"Y-yeah! Sorry, I was daydreaming." I muttered as I shook my head.
"Really? Seemed more like you were staring directly at that weird girl over there!" She scoffed as she pointed directly at her.

I blushed, embarrassed, not wanting my best friend to witness that.

"So it's not just me, right? She seems kinda off to you, too?" I asked her and she just pursed her lips in thought.
"I mean- I only said it because she always looks at people strangely. Like she's stalking you or something." She replied and I sighed in relief.

"Yeah well- maybe she knows shit that we don't." I stated, immediately regretting saying it in front of bff/n.

"Wh- " she stuttered, her eyebrows furrowed.
"Can I ask you a question that may make you feel uncomfortable?" She asked and I gulped silently.
"Well, now that you said all of that- I'm anxious." I replied and she just shrugged it off.
"When you were at work, at the store, I, and plenty of others, would catch you talking to the air..." She began to preface and I immediately became uncomfortable.

"...are you mentally okay?" She asked and I began to gnaw at my bottom lip, really not wanting to go into all this shit again.

Ye- I-" I began to stutter, searching for an answer.

I was debating internally, whether I should just tell her the truth or give a lie.
I didn't want her to truly think that I'm insane when I know I'm not.

"Yes. I'm mentally okay." I stated before continuing.

She's my friend. I should tell her...

"If I tell you this... You have to be open minded and don't ever tell anyone! Okay?" I warned her after taking a short breath.

"S-sure! Of course! Stays between us!" She said as she leaned towards me.

"You probably won't believe me, but-" I whispered as I neared closer to her.

"I was being visited by this dark entity." I began and she scowled, as I knew she would.

"Wh- I-" she began, very puzzled, until I shushed her.
"Just lemme finish... Then I'll hear you." I suggested and she nodded quietly.

We paid for our coffees, exited the café, and began walking down the street to my apartment while I spilled everything to her, everything from when we met to when he left. I didn't fully trust her, but who would believe her anyway. No one would even believe me.

Once I was done spilling the beans, I looked to her for a reaction and she was completely stunned.

"So....?" I dragged out, waiting for a response.

She stayed silent, her face white.
"See. This is why I didn't want to say anything to you. I knew you would think I'm insane-" I said as I sighed in disappointment.
"No! No- I- I hear you. I don't think you're insane, I just- I don't know what to say to that!" She stuttered as she walked in front of me.

"What am I supposed to say? What do I do for you?" She spat out and I averted my eyes from hers to the ground.
"I'm not asking anything of you. I just need you to believe me." I spoke.
"And most importantly, know that I'm NOT insane." I groaned and she nodded carefully, not knowing how to respond.

"I knew you would act like this." I spoke whilst rolling my eyes.

"No! No. No. I'm sorry. I totally believe you." She spoke with a quick pace. I looked at her strangely.
"You sure-" I spoke before she quickly interrupted.
"Yes! Positive! Now let's just get home before ...you know. Anything happens." She muttered as she dragged me by the arm.

I scowled at her, getting very annoyed as to why she was acting so strange. That's when it hit me, she doesn't believe me. I looked her in the eye with aggravation,
"...you think I'm crazy." I sighed and she shook her head frantically.

"No! I don't! I just-" she tried to explain, but I just stopped walking, halting in my tracks.
"Then why are you acting strange." I asked and she stopped walking as well, facing me.

"I-I'm sorry, I just- need time to process all of this-" she spoke, shaking her head and gesturing with her hands, showing that she was overwhelmed.

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything...

"Okay. Fine." I spoke, relaxing myself.
"How about we talk more over some wine?" I asked and she pirked up.
"Yeah! That would be perfect!" She replied, and so we made our way into my apartment.

Let's see what she thinks when she meets him...
