LUNA'S POV
I lightly rap upon the door of Lola and Lana's room that evening, growing increasingly more nervous the more time passes. Lana opens the door, holding her frog, Hops, in one hand, and her lizard, Izzy, in the other. She smiles cheekily at my visit.
"Oh, hey, Luna. What brings you to our humble abode?" Lana asks, flashing Lola a grin from inside the bedroom. Lola replies with a not-so-thrilled frown, edging further and further away from another one of Lana's lizards, which is slowly inching its way towards Lola.
"'Humble' is an understatement." Lola murmurs sarcastically. However, as if such events hadn't occurred, Lola leaps up from her bed, smiling at me. She walks to stand beside her twin before grabbing me by the wrist and dragging me into the bedroom.
"Say, won't you stay for a spot of tea?" Lola asks, brimming with positivity at the prospect of having a tea-drinking companion. I seat myself on one of the miniature, plastic chairs surrounding the tea table, and my sister pours an invisible cup of tea.
I open my mouth to speak. "You see, I-"
"Ew, Lana! Get him away from the sugar bowl. I swear I saw him poop in there." Lola shrieks upon noticing that Lana is holding Hops in the air triumphantly. She snatches the sugar container, peering a keen eye through the opening. Clearly satisfied with her investigation, Lola caps the container with a curt "harrumph".
I take the brief silence that follows as an opportunity to speak. "So, dudes, there's something I should tell you." Lola and Lana are no longer enthralled in their given tasks; they're staring at me, transfixed. Hops creaks feebly.
"Well, uh, you two may remember the girl I brought to our house, Sam?" I remind them, and they nod. "You know... uh," I mumble, trying in vain to stall time. I pick up the empty tea cup, pretending to take a tentative sip. Lola raises an eyebrow.
"Spill the tea, sis." She says, and I'm truly on the verge of spilling the nonexistent tea in my teacup, for my hands are trembling so greatly. Exhaling slowly and quietly, I lower the cup back into its saucer.
"You see, I'm dating her, and I'm bisexual." I mumble, now resorting to rubbing my arm anxiously. I gaze into the eyes of the twins. Mouths agape, they stare at me, then one another.
"Told you, Lola. I called it." Lana states, unaware that Hops is now hopping under Lola's bed. I don't have to ask them to know: they knew this whole time.
I groan, slumping my head against the table. "It was that obvious, wasn't it?" I murmur into the furniture.
Lana shrugs feebly. "I mean, it wasn't tha-"
"Yes it was obvious, Luna." Lola interrupts her twin blatantly. "Did you think we wouldn't notice?"
"But what does... bisexual mean?" Lana asks, having suddenly noticed Hops' disappearance, for she gazes under the table surreptitiously.
"It means that I'm attracted to both the male and female gender." I reply casually, as if we're engaging in completely normal conversations regarding subjects such as the weather.
"So, Lola," I address my sister, hoping to distract the 6-year-old from her twin who is now crawling across the floor in search of her frog. "It's like in one of your fairytales, except in the end, the princess is just as likely to fall in love with another princess than she is a prince." Lola nods in understanding.
"Ah, there you are, Hops! And you too, Izzy?" Lana interjects excitedly, drawing out the two creatures from under Lola's bed. Lola seems absolutely repulsed by Lana's discovery, and I can see her suppress the urge to glance under the bed.
"She treats you well, right?" Lola questions, mainly for the purpose of distracting herself, though she seems thoroughly interested in hearing what I have to say nonetheless.
"Sam seems really nice." Lana adds, now having joined us at the table. I nod shyly. "She is. Very nice, yes." I state awkwardly, unable to hide the blush that stains my cheeks at the thought of her.
"Have you kissed?" Lola draws out the question, leaning over the table as she awaits an answer. Lana does the same, and I see a fleeting image of Izzy scampering a few meters closer to get a better view of me. I nod feebly, both heart warmed yet intimidated by their profound excitement.
The twins grow increasingly more excited at my response. They continue to badger me with questions until time runs out, to which I exit their bedroom, tuckered out from the interview. However exhausting the ordeal was, it was a success, and I exited their bedroom feeling more vibrant than when I had entered.

A couple days later, I found myself contemplating Lucy's poem again while playing a composed collection of gentle notes from my acoustic guitar. I am soon interrupted by the gentle buzzing of my phone. Sam, Sully, and Alex are face-calling from the group chat. I join the conversation, much to Alex's incredible excitement. They release a beaming smile at the new arrival.
"Woah, Alex, calm down, dude. What's the excitement about?" I ask, setting aside my guitar and devoting my attention to my band mate.
"I'll tell you all in a moment." Alex states with giddy, child-like enthusiasm. "I have to wait for Mazzy to join."
Needless to say, it doesn't take long for Mazzy to pick up her phone with an expression of sheer confusion. "Geez, dudes and dudettes, you're blowing up my phone over here. What's up?"
Without taking a moment to breathe or gather our attention further, Alex interjects. "I made it into the Royal Rumble!"
Excitement arises between all of us. However, Sully is relatively calm beside Alex, albeit excited as well.
"Why aren't you excited, Sully?" Mazzy asks, having expected a larger reaction. "One more member of our group is joining us."
Sully nods. "Of course I'm happy, dudes. I would have been more excited if I hadn't been told the news three times this afternoon." Sully mocks, grinning slyly in his sibling's direction.
Chuckling nervously, Alex smiles. "Hey, I was excited, okay? I couldn't help it." They state, and their brother rolls his eyes jokingly. "You should have seen them." He states, gesturing in Alex's direction. "The moment they stepped inside the house, they were bouncing off the damn walls." Alex playfully shoves their brother, undoubtedly slightly embarrassed.
"What?" Alex asks, feigning innocence. "That's not how it happened!" Mazzy laughs. "Knowing Alex, that probably is how it happened."
Everyone laughs at Mazzy's statement, and Alex themselves even manages to laugh heartily.
