I stood my ground until I remembered something that my mother taught me. She told me if I ever felt unsure in a fight, to use this technique, but only as a last resort. Though I wanted to stay and fight, I knew I wouldn't. Now is my time to use it. I quickly turn around the other way and bolt it at full speed away from this guy.
Y/N: 'There's only one thing I feel I can do. Run away.'
I ran full speed through the rough terrain as he was close on my tail whipping that blazing chain at me.
I busted through boulders and used my bending to cause rock slides that would get him off my tail.
I busted through another boulder when I felt a heated chain wrap around my leg which caused me to fall onto the solid earth.
The hunter leapt into the air and shot a flame at me, which I narrowly avoided by rolling to the side. He shot lashed his chain at me which I was struggling to avoid. The chain eventually wrapped around my wrists and began to burn through the sleeves of my armor.
I used my strength to pull the guy towards me to give me slack to free my hands. As I yanked him forward, I delivered a kick to his face which he narrowly dodged while I freed my hands, but at the cost of the sleeves of my mothers armor, revealing my bandaged arm.
The hunter jumped at me to deliver a flaming fist to my face which I dodged. He tried to strike me again and again, but I was able to avoid being struck. Grabbing him by his arm and kneeing him in the gut, kicking him back as he lashed the chain once more.
I flipped over him and landed behind him then used my leg to sweep him off his feet. While he was down I lifted my leg into the air and was ready to slam it down onto his face. Which he escaped my grabbing my grounded leg and yanked it so I was off balanced.
I landed on my back and was pinned down to the ground by him stomping his foot on my chest and forcing me down onto the ground.
Man: I thought Kyoshi warriors would put up more of a fight. Especially the Ghost of Kyoshi. All those men you killed and buried must have been exaggerated if you can't even fight one man..
He kicked me and caused me to roll over into my stomach. I tried to quickly stand but he stepped hard down on my back and then wrapped his chain around my neck and began pulling upward. If I didn't think of anything, my neck was going to break.
This was a great deal of pain. What with the lack of oxygen and the heated metal wrapped around my throat. I felt like my neck was going to break.
Y/N: 'This is not how I'm going to die. It won't end here, not like this.'
Soon my vision faded as my mind wandered to a memory of when was on the road with my mother.
I shattered another rock that my mother had risen from the earth. She was teaching me to earth bend and even then, I still had the same issues.
Daiyu: You know, you don't have to break everything you fight right? Earth is meant to be an extension of what we are as earth benders.
Y/N: I'm sorry, but I don't see what I'm doing wrong. If I'm this strong than no one can really stand up to me. So why even bother with this?
Daiyu: That's like someone having a sword that has the ability to cut through anything, but they don't know how to use it effectively. Just because it's powerful, doesn't mean it will be useful in the hands of the unskilled.
She pinched my cheek making me blush a bit. I playfully swat her hand out of my face. We were taking a small break from the lesson and just sit and talk. Then something came to mind.
