Her birthday

It had been 3 months since Chloe was shot and killed. The police tried their best to find the person who killed her, but they had no luck. 3 days after she died, they held a funeral for her. Noah live streamed it, so every one of her fans could be there to support him and his family. He wasn't himself after she had died.

Tomorrow would be a difficult day for Noah since his and Chloe's birthday was 24 hours away. He wanted their shared birthday to be all about her, seeing as she wasn't there to celebrate.

Noah had planned everything for their birthday, all about her. There was going to be a little shrine were people could leave flowers. He would place her favourite scented candles around the house and her favourite songs would be playing. Noah wanted her spirit to feel at home for their birthday.

NOAH
I woke up to the smell of lavender. Perfect. In each room and hallway, there was a lavender candle. I got up and walked over to Chloe's old room. I opened the door and opened her blinds.

"Happy birthday Chloe." I said, smiling as I looked at her pictures.

I walked down the hallway to the kitchen and smiled as I heard her favourites songs, songs from musicals playing. I looked over at the speaker.

Waving Through A Window. I thought as I stood and listened.

"You miss her don't you..." My mom asked, walking through the elevator door.

"I remember when Chloe would be up at 10pm, singing this song..." I said, about to burst into tears.

"Don't cry now. The guests will be here soon!" My mom laughed as she wiped my eyes.

My extended family (excluding my dad), and my friends are coming over to celebrate our birthday. Finn also invited the IT cast, which made me remember that because I'm a famous actor, Chloe was friends with Sophia Lillis...and Chloe's death really hurt her.

An hour had passed and my extended family had arrived. My friends had arrived shortly after. All of a sudden, I saw a pair of red heels enter the room. Sophia. As soon as she saw the room, I ran over to her and we hugged.

"I-I brought some purple flowers for her..." Sophia said, trying not to cry.

"She would have loved them..." I said, smiling.

After 2 hours, my mom had turned down the music.

"Hey everyone. Thanks for coming to celebrate our birthday. We both are 16 today...but I want today to be about her." I said, holding my cup of Fanta.

Everyone said a little happy birthday to Chloe and I, but before I knew it, everyone had gone home. Mom had turned off the music while I blew out all the candles spread out around the suite.

"Today was a good day Noah. You did amazing with everything. Chloe would have loved it." My mom spoke as we sat on the couch.

"She deserved it. I-I really miss her mom..." I said, trying not to cry.

"Let it out..." My mom said, nodding.

Within a second, I was crying while my mom held me in her arms.
