Skylar's POV
One week later....

Ever since the kiss, Alex hasn't been at work and is completely ignoring the fact that it did happen. Well he had business to attend in Miami but it still felt like he was ignoring me. Am not mad but I felt a little sad that he probably regrets it. I know he is my boss but it felt right. Ugh I hate myself for even saying that.

Sighing, I walked inside the office and was immediately greeted with Serenity's smile. I was also shocked of the news that Alex was coming back today so I felt nervous.

I shook those thoughts out of my head and continued listening to Serenity who was explaining to me about her doctor appointments that her son's always send her to and she said her name and it stunned me.

"Your full name is Serenity Simon?" I asked and she nodded and continued her story as for me my heart was racing and I was sure I looked like the life drained out me as she looked at me worried.

"Sweetie are you okay?" she asked and I couldn't even speak. It was like my heart was being shattered in pieces again. Breathe. Please.

"You need to breathe okay?" she said and I nodded taking a deep breathe.

"What happened?" she asked concerned.

"Alex Simon is your son?" I asked and she just nod confused.

"Well he always told people to use my last name instead of his father's because they weren't talking at one point" she sighed and I felt the tears in my eyes started to fall.

"What's wrong?" she asked wiping my tears.

"I-i- he promised and he left me" I choked on my tears and she watched me confused and then hugged me and I cried until I couldn't anymore.

Few minutes later, Alex walked in with Miguel and I quickly got up and just walked to my office and closed the door. Trying to convince myself to be strong and not get angry about it. Sighing, I tried to pull myself together and started my day but then a knock on the door startled me.

"Come in" I said and Miguel opened up and smiled at me.

"Hey how can I help you?" I asked and he walked in taking a seat.

"Was just checking on how you are and if everything is okay." he said.

"I am okay thanks for asking" I said not looking at him and I heard him sigh.

"Alex needs you" he said and I nod.

Getting up, I quickly walked passed Miguel and headed straight to his office. Taking a deep breathe, I walked in and he smiled and I did the same.

"How are you?" he asked.

"I am good and you?" I gave him a half smile. Stay cool, you got this!

"Good, so about the kiss that happened, I know it seems like I was ignoring you and I am sorry also I apologize for my unprofessionalism" he said and my heart felt like shattering again.

"I understand, I do apologize as well"I said and he smiled.

"So you have a meet-" I was cut off by the door opening.

"Hey babe" a female said and Alex looked like someone scared the crap out of him.

"Hi babe" he said awkwardly and they hugged and I felt to cry so I got up but of course he had to stop me.

"Babe this is my new assistant Skylar" he said and she smiled at me.

"Nice to meet you" I said trying not to cry.
