MacKenzie's POV

Meeting the bands was amazing. It was even more amazing to know that they had also stumbled across my Youtube page from back in the day. Everyone commended me for making the big step into the music industry. As I was talking with all the guys I noticed Brantley slip away for a few minutes. All Time Low took the stage I stood by watching singing along. Brantley appeared by my side about halfway through their set.

"Where'd you go babe?" I asked placing a small kiss on his cheek.

"I just had something to take care of. How's the show babe? Are you having a good time?"

"I'm having a great time. Thank you" I smiled.

We enjoyed the concert. We both had a blast when Blink-182 came out. But I couldn't wait any longer, I wanted the headliners. This was exactly why Brantley brought me here. To see them. He knew they were one of my favorite artists. This date night was turning out to be the absolute best night ever. It couldn't get any better than this, right?

After about half of their set, the music stopped and Jeremy McKinnon started speaking to the crowd.

"How's everyone doing tonight?" He yelled into the microphone. The crowd roaring in response. "Tonight, we've got a special treat for you!" He continued. "We've got a special guest backstage tonight, and she doesn't know it yet but she's gonna help us out with the next song." Jeremy spoke. The crowd cheered. I started looking around to see who it could be. I heard Brantley chuckle.

"What's so funny?" I asked. Causing him to chuckle more.

"Austin, Texas please give a nice warm welcome to Miss MacKenzie James!" Jeremy spoke, getting the crowd hyped up. My jaw dropped to the floor.

"Babe? You didn't?" I spoke trying to wrap my head around this.

"But I did." Brantley smiled. Cupping my face and pulling me in for a kiss. "Don't keep your fans waiting." He said before pushing me towards the stage. I walked out smiling and waving to the crowd. Hugging the band members as I walked over to the microphone stand that was just brought out for me.

"Thank you all for having me. This is such an honor." I smiled at the camera while speaking into the microphone. The crowd cheered. I guy came up to me with a guitar and I took it from him and thanked him before looking to Jeremy.

"All set?" He asked. I nodded my head and he signaled the band. He started strumming If It Means A Lot To You. I turned to see Brantley standing there smiling, waiting for me to perform. I smiled at him and started strumming with Jeremy. He leaned over away from the mic to speak to me.

"Brantley asked us to dedicate this song to you." He smiled. I wiped my head back around to look at Brantley. I was hoping he was able to read my mind right now. I loved that man. And I was the luckiest girl on this whole planet.

"Hey darling, I hope you're good tonight. And I know you don't feel right when I'm leaving. Yeah, I want it but no, I don't need it. Tell me something sweet to get me by. 'Cause I can't come back home 'til they're singin' la, la la la, la la la. 'Til everyone is singin'. If you can wait 'til I get home (I get home). Then I swear to you that we can make this last. (La la la). If you can wait 'til I get home (I get home). Then I swear come tomorrow, this will all be in our past. It might be for the best." Jeremy sang. "Ladies and Gentleman, MacKenzie James."

"And hey sweetie, but I need you here tonight. And I know that you don't wanna be leaving. Yeah, you want it but I can't help it. I just feel complete when you're by my side. But I know you can't come home 'til they're singin'. La, la la la, la la la. 'Til everyone is singin'. La, la la la, la la la. If you can wait 'til I get home. Then I swear to you that we can make this last. (La la la). If you can wait 'til I get home. Then I swear come tomorrow, this will all be in our past. It might be for the best. You know you can't give me what I need. And even though you mean so much to me, I can wait through everything." I sang.

I looked over expecting Jeremy to pick up this next part like he's suppose to, but I was taken by surprise when the crowd erupted and Brantley was walking out on stage. He started singing.
"Is this really happening? I swear I'll never be happy again! And don't you dare say we can just be friends. I'm not some boy that you can sway..."

"We knew it'd happen eventually. La, la la la, la la la. Now everybody's singin'. La, la la la, la la la. Now everybody's singin'. La, la la la, la la la (If you can wait 'til I get home). Now everybody's singin'. La, la la la, la la la (Then I swear we can make this last). Now everybody's singin'. La, la la la, la la la. If you can wait 'til I get home. (Now everybody's singin') la, la la la, la la la. Then I swear we can make this last. Now everybody's singin' la." We all sang. I had goose bumps. Brantley came over and hugged me.

"Best date ever." I smiled and kissed him. The crowd cheered. And then the band started their next song while Brantley and I made our way off stage to watch the rest of the show in the wings.

Brantley's POV

I had a great time and MacKenzie definitely seemed to enjoy herself as well. Even though our taste in music wasn't quite the same, it made me smile that we were able to share this experience. I could only image what this girl was like as a teenager. Was she always an all-american country girl or did she wear black and listen to rock and punk bands? Or was she the girl who everyone got along with? The one who was able to just fit in any where because she was just so likable? I was curious. But I didn't pay much mind to my thoughts. Because all that didn't matter. What mattered was each step she took, each curve she followed, each breath she breathed, it all brought her here to me.

Our plane ride back was spent with her snuggled up in my side. Completely wiped out from the events of the evening, it didn't take Kenzie very long to fall asleep. I snapped a quick picture of us. I wanted to remember this night, no matter what. I ended up scrolling through my phone. Eventually dozing off myself.

We must've just landed back in Georgia because the pilot was waking me up. I thanked him, then looked down at MacKenzie. She was still dead asleep. So I carefully got up and then scooped her up. I carried her to the truck and got her settled before doing the same. Starting our journey back to the house. When I pulled in and cut the engine MacKenzie woke up.

"Hey sleepy head." I gave her a playful smile. She gave me a sleepy one in return.

"When did we get off the plane?" She asked causing me to chuckle.

"You ready for bed sweetheart?" I asked as we climbed out of the truck. I met her in front of the truck, wrapping my arm around her shoulder as we walked towards the house.

"Thank you so much for tonight babe. It was absolutely amazing." MacKenzie said as she squeezed my side.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself."

"I'm glad we got to spend some time together before you leave. I'm gonna miss you so much while you're gone." MacKenzie spoke. I could've sworn I heard her voice crack. We were both tired. And the night was all too perfect to ruin it now. So I wouldn't push the subject. Instead, I kissed her tenderly. Hoping she could read my mind. I'm not going any where. I thought. We continued to make our way to the bedroom for a good nights sleep.
