MacKenzie's POV

I was struggling to finish writing my album. I had 11 songs and if I had one more song then I would be ready to release. Everyone say's that 11 is enough. But I never like odd numbers anyway. I knew there was another good one in me. I just had to find it. I was currently smoking a joint and racking my brain for ideas, when Kolby walked in. I was sitting on the couch upside down which cause him to chuckled.

"What are you doing, Mac?" He asked. Trying to figure out why I was in the current state I was in.

"I've got writers block." I sighed, pouting a little. "Trying to get the blood flowing to my brain." I said, hitting the joint.

"Maybe you're just over thinking. Or even working yourself too hard. Maybe you just need a break." Kolby spoke.

"Maybe, but I'm not sure what to do to get my head right. I just need one more song." I said flipping around on the couch so I was sitting straight up now. "How ironic that I'm finally at peace and happy with my life and now I have nothing to write about." I sighed.

"It's in there MacKenzie. You'll find it you just gotta not try so hard. Or you won't get anywhere." Kolby said, rising to his feet. Holding his hand out for me to take. "Come on Mac. Let's get you out of this house."

I was reluctant because I wanted to keep working, but maybe he was right. I needed a break and forcing something to happen never worked. Maybe I just needed to relax. I stubbed out the roach of my joint.

"Alright Kolby, you win." I said grabbing his handing to help myself up. "Lets go."

We walked out of the house and got in his truck.

"So where we going?" I asked while buckling myself in.

"Honestly, I'm not sure. You feel like going and getting a drink?" He asked.

"That might actually help." I smiled. He nodded in agreement and we took off to the nearest hole in the wall. "I'm gonna see if Rachel wants to meet us there." I shot Rachel a quick text message inviting her and hoping she would say yes. Maybe she'd be able to talk some sense into me.

We pulled into Whiskey Bent Saloon and got out of the truck. I texted Rachel and told her to meet us inside as we made ourselves comfortable at the bar. We ordered a couple beers and started small conversation while we waited for Rachel.

"So how's Brantley doing?" Kolby asked.

"He's doing alright. They're on there way out to Indiana from New Mexico so I'm sure there's a lot of sleep going on. PJ says he's been grouchy and crabby lately. Can't blame him though. He wants me to go on the road and visit. But I'm dragging ass with this album." I said mentally kicking myself in the ass.

"Why don't you just go and see him then finish the album when you come back?" Kolby asked.

"Well the sooner I get it done the sooner I'll have all the time in the world to focus on B, before the album release. Once that happens, we're going to barely have time for each other. The roles will change. I'll be on tour and he'll be in the studio..." I trailed off. Gulping my beer.

"Not necessarily. You guys could figure it out I'm sure. Y'all have been doing a great job so far." Kolby said.

"Hey MacKenzie! Kolby, pleasure to see you again." Rachel said, walking up.

"Hey Rachel." Both Kolby and I said in unison.

"What are y'all talking about?" Rachel asked.

"Brantley being on tour and me, being one song away from spending time with him." I said.
