Chapter 29-

Recap-

I opened up my fist to find a neatly folded piece of paper. I opened it, already knowing who it's from.

It's time we met, little thief. Or should I say sister?

"Who's that from?"

"It's from Alesandro."

"Are you sure it's a good idea to defy them?"

I rolled my eyes in annoyance and for the umpteenth time replied, "We are not defying them, James. We are merely doing what's right."

"But she said-"

"Can you stop being such a pussy? Besides, she didn't order us anyway. So we can do whatever the hell we want." I sighed, running a hand down my face in annoyance at the shaking witch next to me.

"Fine. But if anything goes wrong, it's your fault." He huffed and crossed his arms across his chest.

I stared at him in disbelief, "What are you? Five?"

"No." He replied not even looking at me as he stared ahead with an annoyed face, "But you certainly are."

"Sure. Whatever you say." I shrugged and jumped over a fallen tree branch.

"Where are we going exactly?"

"I don't know." I replied nonchalantly.

"Do you at least know what we're looking for?"

"Nope."

"Well then, what do you know?!" He said, his voice exasperated.

I shrugged, my face remaining neutral. But I was hysterically laughing on the inside.

"I'll tell you what I know."

Both our heads snapped towards the voice.

We looked back at each other and gulped, silently praying for our souls.

"Hey guys." We greeted our friends we left behind earlier.

Our very angry friends.

"Where thee hell were you?" Hunter hissed, his hands fisted by his side and his already glowing eyes, glowing even more.

The others weren't any better.

Tammy and Talon were pretty furious too. It was Rhodey, who was acting different and weird.

It almost looked like he was smirking but then it could've been my imagination because his face then matched that of the others.

"I went with him." I quickly said, pointing at a horrified James.

"What?" He exclaimed, confused and scared.

"I didn't really want to go."I said in a low voice, pursing my lips and rocking back and forth on my heels, "He forced me to."

Tammy looked like she didn't believe me at all. I don't blame her. I am lying. But they don't need to know that.

Talon looked at his twin in disbelief. Like, why would he want me of all people to go with him.

It was hard to decipher what Hunter was feeling and thinking. He was the most furious of the bunch. And it was directed at me. So I guess no matter what I say, I'll still have to face the wrath.

And Rhodey, well, he was being weird again. I couldn't really understand what he was thinking. But it wasn't anger. He looked, delighted, almost. But why?
