~Vixen~
I abruptly woke up panicked and my pulse racing. I took deep breaths to fill my burning lungs—It felt like I couldn't get enough air.
I put my hand over my beating heart and sat on the edge of the bed. I look over at my phone to check the time and see that is a little after 2am. I had 4 missed calls and 9 text messages. I wasn't ready to deal with the day just yet.
I ran my hand through my sticky wet hair as I felt myself calm down. I hated waking up like this during my nightmares. It felt like an overdosed panic attack.
I lifted myself off the bed and grabbed an oversized shirt of Rivers and put it on over my bare body. Might as well have a drink to calm my nerves. I make my way down the stairs to the kitchen but freeze before I enter to the sound of a women's giggle.
The house was always alive since most of my men were in and out on assignments, but they knew the rules about women here. The basement had private rooms for that kind of thing but the main floor was off-limits.
Annoyed and tired I slowly walked into the room but ceased at the doorway. Valerio was leaned against the island counter and a woman dressed in a red blouse and black pencil skirt sat on top of the counter next to him. Her long blond hair waved gracefully down her shoulder as she looked up at me with her emerald green eyes. The women gave me a smile, but my focus was on Valerio.
I could feel the millions of emotions burning inside me but I kept my expression neutral and calm. I couldn't show him this bothered me—I couldn't show him I cared.
"Valerio," my voice monotone. I gave him a small curt nod and made my way to the fridge.
"Sonya this is Vixen." I grabbed a few beers and turned around to face them. "Vixen this is Sonya Federico, our lawyer."
I raised a brow and extended my hand to her. "Nice to meet you. Vixen Consoli."
She took my hand like nothing and shook it. "Consoli, you say? Pleasure," she smiled. Her bright green eyes shined under the light and I couldn't help but envy the beauty of this woman. No wonder why she was here at 2 am with Valerio. First Chanel and now Sonya...I wouldn't be surprised if he has slept with half the women in the city.
I then remembered what I was wearing— an oversized white t-shirt with black panties that you could barely make out through the fabric. "Sorry I wasn't expecting anyone to be here. It's usually off-limits for guests." I shrug as I took a sip of my beer. I made no move to cover up my nipples pressing against my shirt.
Valerio's eyes were focused on the beer he was holding but Sonya had her focus on me.
"Oh, no I'm sorry. We were going over some files and decided to grab a bite to eat. I didn't realize how late it got." She giggled as she slid off the counter and set her beer down. "I should get going." She wrapped her perfect toned long arms around Valerio and gave him a tight hug in which he returned. "I'll see you later V." She kissed his cheek and left the room.
