~Vixen~
*One week later*
I step off our private jet at JFK airport. Soaking in the scenery and smell of New York City. The faint smell of garbage and the hot humidity air hits me like a brick wall. That familiarity of it all feels like I've never left.
"Home," I whisper. The words feel sour coming out of my mouth.
"Fucking move Vix."
"Calm your fucking shit River. I'm going," I snap back. Rivers been bitter since we took off from LAX and its been irritating me.
I walk towards the black Cadillac SUV waiting for us. There were four men standing around the vehicle. I faintly recognize a few of them but the others must be new. I throw my bag at one of them and open the passenger door.
"Sali sul sedile posterior," (Get in the backseat.)
"Vaffanculo, I called shotgun." (Fuck you) I stick my tongue out and slide in, not missing the men's eyes widened in fear and wait for Rivers reaction. He pinches the bridge of his nose with his thumb and index finger. I hear him curse as he climbs into the back seat.
"Vixen, you can't disrespect me in front of my men. You know its punishable."
"Oh fuck off River. I wouldn't be disrespecting you if you haven't been acting like an ass these last few days. I'm sick of it. Stop talking and treating me like a child."
"Stop being childish then."
We continue to bicker with each other the whole way home. I notice Elliots' moping mood as he stares down at his phone. If I didn't know better, both Elliot and River are acting like they're freaking PMSing.
When we arrived at our house, I couldn't help but get butterflies. I missed it. It was an estate just outside the city. We had a few penthouses located in the city and a warehouse for housing some of our members but this was home.
I got out of the vehicle and look up at our mansion. We were surrounded by trees and plants everywhere. You wouldn't even believe we are just outside the city. We had a deepwater dock, which helped most days to get to our warehouse just outside the port by our boat. Beats having to sit in traffic every day.
I make my way through the doors, heading straight to the kitchen ignoring Rivers' voice calling after me. I opened the fridge and pull out a yogurt, avoiding all the stares of the kitchen staff.
River walks through the doors with a hardened facial expression.
"OUT." He shouts. The kitchen staff scram to leave, bowing their heads to him, never making eye contact.
I hop onto the counter and crossing my legs while I bite into my yogurt.
River exhales a deep breath and walks to the fridge pulling out two beers, opening them, and hands one to me.
