Dylan's POV

As we cleaned around I notice that Hope wasn't with us anymore. I look around for her in the main area we were at, but couldn't find her. I decide to find her and stop cleaning.

"I'll be back guys." I say to everyone as I walk away from the main area. I start walking down the hall looking for Hope and checking the rooms. I then decide to go check her room out to see if she's there. It wasn't a far walk so I get there pretty quickly.

The door was ajar and I could tell the light was on. I sigh and walk over to the door. I push it open slightly and poke my head in. I see her sitting there on her bed not facing me as she held something in her hand. I hear her crying and I frown.

"Hey..." I say softly and she doesn't look back at me.

"Hey..." she responds sadly and I open the door fully. I step inside and shut it behind me.

"Are you okay?" I ask her and carefully walk over to her. "What's wrong?" I stop seeing that she was holding a picture of her with her parents I assume.

"No." She sniffles and shakes her head. I walk over to sit down next to her and she continues to look at the photo.

"What's wrong?" I ask and put my arm around her.

"I just...I miss them alot." She brings her hand up to wipe tears from her eyes and sniffles. "When I was stuck in Malivore, I felt so alone and all I wanted was my mom and my dad. Then coming back and realizing that my family doesn't remember me made it worse." She leans against me.

"I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm sorry you had to go through that, especially all alone. No one deserves to go through that." I kiss her head and rub her shoulder.

"With everything also going on, I just was scared and frustrated. I was so scared to lose anyone else and it was so scary to think that everyone who we saved could've been killed or worse, turned into people who kill." Hope brings her photo up to her chest and holds it there.

"I get that. I felt that too when it all started. I didn't want to lose anybody." I say quietly. "And I'm sorry again for earlier about wanting to...sacrifice myself basically. I just don't want to lose anybody else." I shake my head.

"I don't either." Hope says quietly and pulls away from me. She sets the photo down and sighs. "I...I only freaked out on you and left like that because you're not the first person to sacrifice themselves for me." She admits.

"Oh...I'm sorry." I say feeling bad.

"Its okay. I just am tired of people sacrificing themselves for me. There was one time where...I had a really bad dark magic inside of me that was hurting me and might've taken control of me. My dad...my dad had the dark magic from me transferred to him then he killed himself in order to kill the magic with him." She explains.

"Wow. I um..." I didn't know what to say feeling terrible that she had to explain to me why she didn't want me to do what I was going to do.

"I'm sorry I just like spilled that all out on you. I just want you to understand why I freaked out." She takes my hand and I I squeeze it.

"I won't let anything happen then Hope. I know that's a big promise, but no sacrifices from me." I lean in and kiss her forehead.

"Thank you." She sniffles and then she let's go of my hand. She wraps her arms around me and embrace me in a big hug. We hug each other for awhile longer before I pull away.

"We should get back to everyone." I say to her and she nods. She wipes her tears away and I stand up.

"I'll follow behind. Just let me grab a few things here first." She says and I nod.
