Chapter 22

Sana wakes up with a jolt to an alarm. Sid has kept the alarm clock near her head to wake her up. It has been ringing from a long time now. But she didn't have the strength to shut it down. Sana still sleepy rubs her eyes and looks at the watch. It's earlier than her usual time that she wakes up. But she will resume her shooting today and before that she has to visit home. So she gets out of the bed. She looks around and there is no signs of Siddy boy. She comes out of the bedroom to find Sid sitting on the table with his mother. Sumitraji looks at her and smiles," Utha gaya bacha..Go freshen up." Sid shakes his head and gets up to leave. Sana says,"Siddy..I mean Sid, Did you have your tea?" Sid turns and says," No I am waiting for princess Sana to wake up and give me.." He leaves after saying that and Sana sits down with a sad face and whispers, "Sadu kahinka."

When Sid returns from the gym, Shini comes to him. She says," Bhaiya, I have to leave after sometime. Our bus will leave in the afternoon. I have to deposit the money before that." Sid pulls out few notes from his wallet and gives it to Shini and says," Take. Remember to call me as soon as you reach.Wait I will drop you." Shini takes the money and says,"You don't need to drop me. I will go with Tina. She is coming to pick me up. You don't worry for me. Aap yahan ki tension ko sambhaliye." She hugs her brother and goes inside.

Sid enters his room and comes face to face with Sana who is changing, wearing a towel. Sid closes his eyes and turns his face. He says," Shit..Shit.. Sorry.. sorry..I didn't see anything.. You should close the door and change. Where were you when God was distributing brains?" He rushes out of the room and closes the door. Sumitraji comes hearing his voice and asks," Kya hua?" Sid replies," Nothing. Woh Sana..Nothing actually." Sumitraji returns to the kitchen. Sana comes out of the bedroom wearing a Salwar Kameez. She biting her lower lips says,"Sorry. Actually woh naa, I thought.." Sid interupts her," So, you can think? Please don't give so much pressure to your brain." He gets up and goes inside the room.

Sid and Sana sit together at the dining table having breakfast. Shini has already left. Sumitraji comes and sits with them. Sana looks at Sid and then facing Sumitraji says," Maa, today I have my shooting. I will return by late evening. Actually I have some work at my home, I will have to go there." Sumitraji says,"Toh jao na beta, who has stopped you." Sana glances at Sid and says," No someone doesn't like me going there." Sid looks at Sana and then says to his mother,"Maa, if she is indicating about me, then tell her clearly, yes I don't like her Mamaji and Mamiji. But I can't stop her from visiting her home. I was against rituals, so I had brought her back the other day." Sumitraji smiles and says," ¤Dono hi ek dusre se bol do, I am not getting involved between you two."

Sana hugs her Sumitraji as she leaves. Both of them come out of the flat and soon the neighbours start peeping from their homes. Few come out and smile at her. Sana too waves her hand at the kids and smile at every one. Sid tries to ignore them and moves along with Sana. Just then his eyes fall on the boy hiding behind the wall, taking video. It's the same teenager, whose phone Sid had broken earlier for taking video. Sid pulls him out holding him from his t-shirt and grabbing him says,"Tujhe akal nahi ayi abhi tak? I had told you not take anyone's photos or videos without permission." He says," Sorry bhaiya,woh I wanted to take Sana's picture. Meri favourite actress hai na." Sid pulls him closer and talks near his face,"Sana Bhabi. Bhabi not Sana. You should have asked her for that. I am sure she wouldn't have mind. Why like this?" He replies," Sorry bhaiya. Next time I won't do that." Sid smiles and says,"There will be no next time." He looks at Sana, who is grinning now after witnessing Siddy boy's angry boy look. She stops smiling as he stares at her and follows her outside.

As soon as they come out of the building, few press and media people surround them with cameras and microphones on their face asking various questions." Sana how is the new life treating you?" "Sana is it difficult to adjust in the new home?" "Sana will you continue work? Will you still work with Asim Khan?" "Sidharth why did you marry Sana when you had rejected her once? Is it her money or fame?" Sid hugs Sana to protect her from camera and takes her to the car parked near the gate. He makes her sit inside and is about to go out when Sana holds his hand. She says," Please don't go. You can come with me. We can go together. These people will not leave you." Sid smiles and removes her hold,"Mam, they are here for you. I am just an ordinary man. I have faced more crowd in bus and trains than this. Don't worry for me. And travelling in such luxurious car is way out of my league." Saying this he closes the door and goes to his bike avoiding the cameras and people.

Sana all the way thinks about everything that happened that day. She was happy as for the first time, Sid had stood up for her accepting her as his wife. The way he said to the boy to call her 'Bhabi ' was worth watching for. The way he held her in front of the media reminded her of the episode of hotel attack. She craves so much for such attention and care from him. His warm hug makes her feel so alive. But his behaviour later again hurt her. Why can't he accept her things as his, just like Mama and Mami? This car belongs to him too but he won't accept it. Why?

Sana reaches her house and goes inside. Mamaji sitting in the living space says,"Agayi. Shooting has time. I will go with you today. Wait for me." Saying this, he goes inside. Rinky comes down the stairs and hugs her sister tightly, giving her a kiss on her cheek. She says,"Di, I had missed you. How are you? How is Jiju?" Sana smiles and says," I missed you too. I am okay but your Jiju is khadoos." She sits down on the sofa and Rinky says,"Why what happened?" Sana replies," Kitna attitude hai bande mein. Itna attitude lata kahan se hai yeh?° Chod. How are you? Where is Bunty bhaiya? I need to talk to him, his phone is not reachable." Rinky says," Bhaiya is not here. He has gone to some place with his friends in his new car. I don't know when he will return."

Sid has been the talk of the town since he has married Sana, the actress. People talk behind his back and he knows that. Today the questions the media people asked, keeps ringing in his ears. 'Money or fame ' he never asked for any of them. Only he knows why he married her. His thoughts are broken when his colleage Sagar taps on his shoulder. He looks up to find him standing and smiling at him.

Sagar asks,"Lost in Bhabhi's thoughts? I can understand bhai. Nayi nayi shadi aur woh bhi Sana jaise beautiful actress se. What can you do? Seriously man, you are lucky. Beautiful wife, big house, and all comforts. And look at me, when I married your bhabi, she was thin like a pole and today she has turned into a balloon. And what did she bring? Nothing. She came with a tv and a double bed. That's it." Sid is already irritated with everything, but still controlling his irritation he says,"Do you have any work with me?" Sagar laughs and says," Oh yes. I will go out with my wife and kid today to watch a movie. It's our anniversary. Actually we will go to your Sana's movie only. My wife is her big fan. I need a favour. Can you arrange a meeting with her? Your bhabi will be very happy." Sid smiles and replies,"Happy Anniversary. But I don't know when she will be home. So." Sagar replies,"Don't worry. We will come to the bunglow in the evening after the movie. You will be back by that time. We can wait for her there with you. No worries." Sid taking a deep breathe says," I won't be there at her bunglow as I don't stay there. I stay in my house. And I have absolutely no idea when she will return home. So please don't mind, some other time. Now I have some work. Please let me do that." Sagar's face turns down and whispering curses, he goes away.

Sid returns home in the evening to find Sana hasn't returned yet. Sumitraji says," She will be back. Don't worry." Sid laughs and says," Why should I be worried for her? She has her car, she can return on her own at anytime she wants." Saying this he goes inside the room. He is tired with everything that has been happening all day. He falls asleep only to wake up when his mother calls her for dinner. He looks around and his mother replies," No she has not returned yet. You come and have your dinner. I will wait for her." Sid is angry by now, he says,"No need to wait for her. When she will come, she will eat on her own.."

Sana returns late somewhere around mid night. She presses the bell but no one opens the door. After waiting for more than ten minutes, she takes out her phone and calls Sid. Sid cuts the call and opens the door. Sana smiles as she enters house and goes straight to her room to sit down on the bed. She says,"Uff. I am so tired. Why were you not opening the door? I had to call you." Sid gives her a smirk and says," I wanted to see if you have your phone and my number or not." Sana says,"Yes. Why?" Sid shakes his head and says," How can you be so careless? You think this is a hotel where you will come and go anytime you want." Sana replies," My friends took me to a restaurant. So.." Sid interupts her,"I don't need to know where were you or with whom were you. I simply don't care. But my mother considers you as her daughter and worries for you. The least you could do is to call her and tell her you will be late. She was waiting for you and slept late. But expecting anything from you is just useless." Sana gets up and holds his arm," Sorry. I had not thought about that." Sid removes her hold and says," Yes, you had not thought about it. Why would you? You know what you can't think about anyone but yourself. You are so self centred. That's what I hate the most about you." Sid switches off the lights and goes to sleep on the floor.
