"What is so funny?" Elena, who is sitting opposite to me, asks, seeing me roll in laughter from a text I got from 'Cassie, the arrogant and cake eating monster'.
"Nothing"
Elena dramatically rolls her eyes. "What should I make for my next blog?"
I shrug. Clearly she has forgotten that her little brother is not good at ideas and cooking.
She shakes her head and continues to do what she was. I look down at my phone phone and see that 'Cassie, the arrogant and cake eating monster' has responded.
How many Cassies do u know?-C
Not what I was expecting. I count in my head all the Cassies I have known and give her the number.
She responds a few seconds later.
Hey.-C
God.
I return her greeting and ask her if everything's all right?
Perfect. Although...-C
I wait for her to elaborate but when she doesn't I ask her.
Although...?-W
Although...I kinda need you-C
I widen my eyes. Me? For what?
ME? FOR WHAT?!?-W
Um, So, I transferred here a few months ago, but I was never really social and I want to view the city, I thought you may be interested in the adventure.-C
Oh.-W
Yeah. So, are you?-C
Huh?-W
Interested, I mean.-C
Ah. Oh. Okay. Yeah. Sure.-W
Am I nervous? Yes. Why? Unknown.
Cool. I have a friend coming tho. You might wanna bring someone too. I'll tell you the details later. Okay?-C
Yeah. Okay. Cool. See ya soon, then.-W
Hm. A friend. I have a million friends, maybe more, but the thing is no one is close enough to bring to an 'adventure' except for Liza, but she's a girl.
Wait.
Why do I care?
First, Liza is just a friend. We practically grew up together and she's more of a sister to me than my best friend. Also, she's gay, so no chance.
Second, it's not like this is a date, right? Or...Is it?
Nah. It isn't.
Also... Who is this friend she is bringing? I know for a fact that Cassie goes to my school but I've never really seen her before this job. Do I know this friend? Is she going to be pretty? Can I-
"Wesley Evans, get you butt in here this second. Please."
Elena. Ugh. My sister depends on me too much.
"What?"
"Were you busy?"
"Ye-"
"I don't care. Help me find a good outfit for a date at a museum."
"Seriously?Who is this idiot to have a date in a museum? And what about your last boyfriend? What was his name again?Cash?"
"Cameron" she corrects me through gritted teeth."little baby brother,"she says in a sickly sweet voice,"if you had paid a little attention to what I say, you would have known that I dumped him three months ago. Also, who I'm going on a date with is NONE OF YOUR FUCKING BUSINESS!"
Sheesh. Never get on Elena's bad side. She is a rebel hidden beneath a coat of sugary sweetness.
"Jeez. Calm down. Breathe. Now what do you have?"
She jerks her head, pointing to a pile of bright sparkly clothes.
I kneel beside them and do my magic.
An hour later, Paul and his brother, show up on my door. Paul and his brother, James are geeks, though I'm none to judge but still a fact is a fact.
His brother is wearing a white button down, blue jeans, converse. His curly sandy-blond hair disheveled, his grey eyes hidden behind his hipster glasses. Whoa. He cleaned up well.
Whereas Paul is just being Paul, with his T-shirt, jeans, sneakers and red hair. Paul is one of my friends. He is a nice guy though he can irritate you to death with his geekiness. Since I'm also a geek underneath, I can tolerate him well enough.
"Hey" says a soft voice from behind me. I blink then immediately recognize my sister's date voice. Yeah, my sister is also weird just like me.
"Hi"
"Wes, this is James,my date for tonight. And James, this is Wesley, my brother. I guess you know Paul, right, Wes?"
I agree with her and invite Paul in as the 'couple' leaves for good.
"Hey man." Paul mutters, almost shyly.
"Hey."
Then comes it.
The awkward silence.
"What are you doing tomorrow?"
An idea crawling it's way to my brain.
"Nothing. Why?"
"Do you wanna maybe hangout together? I have somewhere to go and wouldn't mind some company"
Now. See, Liza is fine but I can't take her. You may think it's because she is gay but no. It's because she is loud and horny. I can only imagine her reaction when she sees Cassie. Even I thought she was cute, there's absolutely no way she won't.
"Sure. Where to, though?"
"Oh. I don't know."I say, shrugging.
He gives me a confused look.
"Well, there's this friend of mine who wants to hangout and the more the merrier right?"
"Riigghhtt" he says slowly as if doubtful.I was lying on my bed, thinking about tomorrow. This is my chance to get to know Cassie. I think if I want to 'solve' her, I'll need to be friends with her and know her first. And to be friends with me she'll have to like me, which, clearly, she doesn't.
Huh.
I guess I'll have to behave tomorrow, so I'm on her good side. I wonder where we are going. Speaking of...
I take out my phone and message her.
Where are we going? And I need details, girl.-W
She replies almost immediately, with practically the whole itinerary.
I ask her,
Btw, who us this friend you are bringing?
-W
Oh. Just this girl I know who lives near me. Are you bringing someone?-C
Oh. Okay. Yes. This Paul guy I know.-W
Ah. Okay, then. See ya;)-C
Winky face. I feel my eyes grow so wide, they may just pop out.***
Guys!!!
Please comment. I really wanna know how you feel about it. It gives me inspiration. Good or bad, I don't care, just let me know!
Love,
Your desperate idiosyncratic ladyy
