Evan
The bell rings and the class is soon forgotten as I jump into the hallway, eager to find Craig. It was finally lunch, my favourite subject. I only had to put away my stuff and find Craig before I could dig into my food.
I skim through the taller kids who lingered around the halls, chatting and laughing to one another.
I finally reach my locker and carelessly shove my belongings into the tight space.
With that done, I finally had the challenge of finding pesky Craig. I search the halls, the bathrooms and the library. however, I couldn't find the boy.
Instead, I found Brian, pinning a flyer on the hallways notice-board. The board was layered with various colours of sheets and random stickers and cute pins kids have stuck on it.
I pad up to the male, flinching when he sees me before smiling politely.
"Hey Evan, how are you?"
"I'm swell. What are you up to?"
I take a peep at the recently pinned paper.
"Is this a signup sheet? For the gardening club?" I ask, slowly reading the small sentences.
Brian nods sombrely. "Yeah, two people don't really make a club and the school is thinking about shutting the gardening club down to save money."
"Aw, that's horrible!"
"And so far no one really seems interested in our club," Brian sighs, leaning against the board. "Whatever. It was doomed from the start.."
My heart aches for the male, so much that I snatch the hanging pen tied to the board and wrote my name in bold letters.
"Three has to make a club! I wouldn't mind exploring my green thumb side for a
change."Brian jaw gapes, shocked. "Evan I don't want you to join just out of pity for me."
"Who said I'm pitying you? I chose to join because I want to join."
Brian beams joyously, his cheeks puffing with happiness before gazing longingly at my face.
"Thanks, Evan..." He whispers.
I open my mouth to reply but my chest suddenly compressed as I was tackled from behind, the added weight almost causing me to collapse.
I twist around and chuckle at the familiar face of Craig.
"Craig? Where have you been?" I question.
Craig doesn't reply straight away, instead, he bounces on the spot like a rabbit. Stars shining in his eyes as he grabs me by the collar.
"The sign-ups for LAST are finally up, we can try out to join this years tournament!"
Though I didn't match Craig's excitement, I was pretty ecstatic myself.
"Now let's go, I have the munchies bad!" Craig grips my arms, trying to drag me away.
"Wait," I tell, twisting around to face Brian. "You wanna join us for lunch?"
