Evan
A gust of wind blew me backwards as kids on theirs skateboards zoom past me. The bell for first period ringing overhead.

I couldn't find Craig this morning so I decided to find my classes on my own. This wouldn't of been a problem if I still didn't know where all my classes were.

The school was massive, filled with multiple stories so it was no surprise that I was already ten minutes late to Science and still didn't know where the lab was.

The halls were a empty desert with every other student already in class. I was internally screeching as I waddled down the stairs in a frantic attempt to figure out where I was.

I pause my searching as a body hobbled up the corridor towards me. I guessed it was a teacher, she was old lady with streaks of grey in her aged red hair. She was wearing an apron that was smudged with dirt and a couple of cute daisy's in her breast pocket.

I skip over to her to see she was struggling to carry a hefty bag of fertilised soil.

"Do you need any help with that Miss?" I question, half hoping she would refuse. Me and her were almost the same size, in our body physiques and I wasn't sure if I could carry the pouch of dirt if she couldn't.

She gave me a fond smile that stretched her wrinkly cheeks. "Oh why thank you hun. I thought my back would break soon! And I still haven't to grab the new flower pots!"

I grab the bag from her and immediately tremble under its weight but was still determined to help her out. "I'm guessing you're redecorating the schools front garden?"

"Oh no! These are for the gardening club, we were due for some new supplies!"

"We have a gardening club?"

She nods with a fragile chuckle. "Well we aren't really popular, not many kids like gardening nowadays so I'm not surprised you didn't know."

I readjust the bag in my grip before replying. "The club sounds cute! Where can I find it?"

"On the roof of B block, just ahead."

I almost deflated into a soggy balloon. I would have to carry this hefty weight up flights of stairs if I wanted to deliver it to the gardening club. Fortunately the lady hands me a thick metal key for the elevators, as long as I gave it back of course.

I push my books to the side of the corridor, planning to come back for them after I finished my task.

The elevators were quite stylish and clean. We didn't have many kids who were disabled so I just though the elevators are for people who were in crutches or janitors with large cleaning trolleys.

I reach the fourth floor of B block and climb up a couple of stairs before coming to the roofs door.

The morning sun blinds me as I heave open the heavy door. I was greeted with a long range of flower beds with various colourful flowers and trees.

I flop the bag onto the ground, panting and rubbing my sore arms before deciding to drag it the rest of way down the small pathway.

Bees and bugs buzz around the garden and a gentle wind ruffles my hair. The suns rays dabble my skin through the leaves of the trees, warming my face and neck.

The roof was an oddly calming place until I yelp loudly as my back bumps into a foreign object.

I twirl around and is greeted with a stoic face of a tall dark brunette kid. His face was a chiseled masterpiece and his jaw line was sharp.

His eyes were an ocean blue that peered down at me in confusion but he smiles brightly anyways.

"Hi there, what brings you here?" He queries in a heavy Irish slur.

I bring my hands together, suddenly feeling threatened under his kind but stoic eyes.

"I brought you soil." I told, robotically. I feel my face burn with embarrassment.

He chuckles lowly and picks up the bag by its two corners. "Can you help me bring it to the shed?"

I obey and pick up the other two corners. Together we carried the bag over to a wooden shed with shovels and spades hanging on hooks on the outside walls.

I let go and he tosses the bag against the wall, dusting his hands on his tight jeans.

"I didn't know there was any kind gardening club here," I attempt to make conversation as the silence before was mentally killing me.

"Ah yeah. I'm the club leader, since I'm.. the only member... excluding Miss Martha.."

"So you take care of all the plants? That's amazing, there's so many!"

He laughs, an embarrassed tint of pink brushing his cheeks.

"Yeah I do kinda, with Martha's help of course!" He bends down and plucks out a elegant white rose from one of the thorny bushes. He places the flower in my hands with a wide grin. "I'm Brian by the way, nice to meet you."

I hold the cluster of petals close and introduced myself. "I'm Evan, I'm new here."

"Oh, I've heard about you."

"Really?"

"Yeah, the new kid that rides a skateboard like a goat."

I give him a flat look before he bursts out laughing.

"I'm joking! You're just pretty popular."

"How could I possibly be popular?"

He shrugs and guides me back down the pathway. "I don't know, you're just... eye-catching."

I quirk my brow. He smiles, resting his arms around his neck and adds, "Besides you ride a skateboard, don't you? Especially with Craig. That must be why."

I nod before letting silence take over until we reach the door to the roof. I gently clutch the flower in my hand to my stomach.

Brian's rakes his hair backwards before smirking joyously. "Nice meeting you Evan, I hope to bump into you again or you bump into me!"

I giggle shortly, taking a step forward past the door before halting.

"Wait! Almost forgot!" I tell, reaching into my pocket to hand Brian the keys. Our hands lightly brush each other's palms and I heard a small grunt come from the taller.

With another farewell, I trot down the stairs to collect my things. I stop in the empty corridor, groaning out loud.

I still have no clue where the Science Lab is!
