Evan
"God, it's even worse at night," I grimace as I walk with David back to Gigmore Street. The street is lit up by rows of lampposts and trees but quickly lessens as we arrive at the start of the slope.

"You sure you want to do this? I don't want you to feel pressured, we can always stay with the smaller ramps," David suggests.

I shake my head. "As tempting as that is, I want- I need to get over this fear so I can continue playing with tricks and stunts, I don't want to dead weight in LAST."

"You can't be dead weight. I'm the one coaching you."

"My coach is a lacklustre."

"Hey!" David chuckles as I pass him and stare down the slope, poorly illuminated by the scattered street lamps.

My stomach flips and my hands start to quiver as I grab my board and tuck it under my feet, peering down the hill.

A long whimper escapes my mouth and I tense when David's arm brushes mine. He looks at me softly, an encouraging grin on his face.

With no exchanged words, I felt marginally better with his presence and beaming smile near. He jumped on his board and with a loud cheer, David glides down the hill.

"God, let me live through this please," I silently pray and force myself forward.

Cold night air whips against my face as my board rapidly picks up speed, instantly catching up to David. My heart thumps in my ears as the houses and trees were now blurs as I zoom pass..

My legs were jello and weary as I crouched on the board in terror, which only seemed to make me go faster.

David releases a loud hearty cheer like a child on Christmas while I yell in dismay as we ride side to side.

"Stand up! You're missing out on the fun part." David laughs, his voice being butchered by the wind.

"This is the fun part?!"

I give him an appalled look, my body quivering in jealousy to see David appearing to have the time of his life. He let the wind brush into his long chocolate locks, a smile plastering on his face as he tasted the chilly night air.

Thankfully, our boards travel closer and closer to where the slope levels out onto the main road, houses and lamps abundant on the levelled ground.

"How do I stop?" I question loudly to David. He only smiles, chortling with amusement.

"We don't!"

Oh, crumbs...

As I reach the end, my speed didn't differ and we went flying onto the main road. My heart drops into my stomach as my board bumps over something hard, my legs becoming unsteady and weary.

I try and stay on but I lose my balance and I'm thrown to the asphalt while my board continues to fly and hit the side of a grey car, the alarm blaring in the once silent night.

I pant as I sit up, grasping my shoulder as pain shoots from my shoulder down to my arm and fingers.

"Evan, are you alright?" David rushes to my side, skidding to his knees and patted me down.

My fingers twitch in pain, my shoulder on fire as I tried to move it to stand up. "Crap, I think I hurt my arm."

"I'm sorry, this is my fault-"
