When got home from school that day happy to see that my mother was working. I went to my room and slammed the door behind me. Throwing my bag on the ground I jumped onto my bed with the list of hero agencies who are interested in me. Since I have to turn it in tomorrow I think I should look through it now. "I need to find a hero that's focused on speed instead of power." I know that I'm strong but I'm not as powerful as people like Bakugo. He overpowered and was faster than me in our fight. As I was scrolling down the list of heroes one caught my eye. "Hmm... Hawks?" I heard that he is the number three hero and most people say he's too fast for his own good. Personally, I've never seen Hawks fight. With curiosity getting the best of me I pulled out my phone and went on Youtube to see if I can find any videos of him. After searching his name, I clicked on the first video which was an interview on a night show. "Tell us Hawks why did you become a hero?" Of course they ask that question. Hawks leaned against the arm of the chair and flashed a closed eye smile. "I want to live in a society where heroes have more free time then they know what to do with." That's a first but I guess it makes sense. If a hero has more free time then that means there would be more peace. "We'll why don't we take a look at how you plan on accomplishing that dream." The crowd cheered and the camera switched over to some footage of Hawks battles. In every battle it was over within seconds. I was amazed at how fast he could move and how he can use he can take down villains with just a few small feathers. I turned of that video and watched a few more videos of Hawks taking down criminals. After watching his videos I knew that if I wanted to go fast I need to train under Hawks. I grabbed my pen and filled out the form Mr. Aizawa gave us. The front door opened and I knew that my mom was home. "(Y/n)!" My mother yelled out to me. I walked out of my room and made my way down the hall where mother was waiting for me in the kitchen. "I got a call from your teacher today." I felt my nerves grow inside of me. Did Mr. Aizawa tell her his that he knows? My chest grew heavy and my heart was beating fast. "So internships huh?" I looked up at my mother who taking a hit at her cigarette while staring down at me. I was slightly relieved that Mr. Aizawa didn't tell her about our conversation. "So anyone good give you an offer?" "I actually decided to do the internship with Hawks." My mother looked at me slightly wide eyed, then she put her cigarette out in the ash tray sitting on the counter. "The number three hero wants to take you under his wings. About time you do something good. I thought you were so useless in the sports festival that no one would've gave you an offer." Her words stung. My mother knows how to get at you not only physically but mentally as well. She makes me feel like I can't do anything even though I know I can, her words always get to me. My mother went to walk out of the kitchen before stopping and putting her hand on my shoulder. "Don't disappoint me again." She told me with an icy tone before going away to her room. I let out a sigh of relief and went back to my room. I laid on my bed then picked up my phone to see I have text messages from Eijiro.

Eijiro: Hey! Sorry I
didn't walk you home.
Did you think about
Saturday?

I almost completely forgot about Eijiro wanting to hang out this weekend. I looked around my room to see that I do need some things before going to the internship.

Is it ok if we go
shopping? I need a
few things.

Eijiro: Yeah that's
totally fine. Wanna
meet at the mall
around 1?

Sounds good to me.
See you then.

My mother has to work late on Saturday so I can sneak out the house for a few hours. As long as I'm home before her I should be fine.

Time Skip

All through out the week Mr. Aizawa has been keeping a close eye one me. Before I leave his class he always ask me if I'm ok. I know that he's doing this because he knows. I figured he must be very perceptive. The beatings don't happen as much anymore. My mother only hits me if I mess up in training or if I don't do something the way she wants. I think it's because of the internships. It would be bad for if a top rated hero found out what goes on at home so she wants to leave as few marks as possible. Me and Eijiro grew closer to each other even though we've only knew each other for a couple weeks. You could say we're inseparable. I also became good friends with Bakugo and Todoroki. "Hello...earth to (y/n)." Eijiro's hand waved across my face trying to gain my attention. I shook my head and looked back at him, rubbing the back of my neck. "Sorry, what did you say?" " I asked who you're going to internship with." It was lunch time and I decided to eat with Eijiro. We weren't the only ones at the table. With us was Bakugo, Kaminari, Mina, and Sero. "Ohh I decided to go with Hawks." I guess everyone must have heard me because there jaws dropped, except for Bakugo he was too busy eating and probably didn't care since hes interning with the number two hero, Best Jeanist. "Woah (l/n) that's so cool how you get to intern with the number three hero!" Kaminari shouted from next to me. "Yea (nickname) that's awesom!" Mina shouted from the other side of the table. Everyone congratulated me on my internship with a top hero. Soon the day was over with and Eijiro and I were walking to my house. We were having fun talking about the little things until Eijiro's face grew serious. "Hey (y/n) if you hate living with mom... How come you never told your dad what's going on?" I stopped in my tracks while Eijiro walked on ahead. When Eijiro noticed I wasnt beside him anymore he stopped and looked back at me. In all honesty I feel like if my father hasn't left then mother wouldn't hit me and train me till I passed out. We could've been a happy, normal family. "Are you ok?" The sound of Eijiro's voice brought me back to my senses. I felt his hand on my face with his thumb rubbing my cheek. I put my hand on his and leaned into his touch. The feeling of affection made me crave it more. "I'm fine...I just don't like to talk about my dad that much." Eijiro nodded his hand and placed his hand in mine. "I know what will cheer you up!" Eijiro pulled me down the streets dodging everyone in the way. I apologized to everyone as we ran through them. Some of them gave us annoyed glances. The sun was down by now and it was hard to see. Eijiro seemed to know exactly where he going. "I want you to close your eyes." Eijiro turned to face me with a smile spreading across his face. He then held out his hand waiting for me to grab it. "Do you trust me?" I looked at Eijiro who still held his hand out for me. Letting go of my worries I took his hand and closed my eyes. I felt his hand go around my waist so that he could guide me through the trees. A few more minutes later we came to a stop and I felt his hands leave my body. Even though he wasnt physically touching me I can still feel the effects as if he never left. "You can open your eyes now." Obeying his command I open my eyes to the most beautiful sight I've ever seen. We were on a mountain clif that looked down on the city and right above the city were millions of bright stars that littered the sky like glitter. I was in awestruck at the sight. It left me speechless. "When I feel down about myself I come here. Getting away from everything, helps me relax." I looked over to see Eijiro staring up at the night sky with a proud smile on his face. I know that he's still insecure about his quirk and has a long ways to go before accepting his strength. But I know that he can and will become a great hero. I smiled to myself and looked back the sky, wishing that we could stay like this forever.
