The Assassin

Chapter 12

The Luo family was downstairs all except Mr. Luo, who was in his secret basement lab. It was already dark, and the new moon soon to enter the night.

"Roxanne went to bed early?" Dave gasped surpised that Roxanne went to bed early.

"Yeah? What's wrong with that?" Mrs. Luo asked, looking at her youngest son.

"Why does it matter Dave?" Ari huffed putting the glass down after he took a sip of water.

Then a rumbling rang through the glass, to the point where it fell off the table it was sitting on. "I think its an earthquake!" Mrs. Luo exclaimed when it got stronger to shaking the ground beneath them. Then a wall burst to send as strong gust rushed through the room, sending them flying back. Mrs. Luo and Dave hit their backs against the wall, while Ari had his left arm slammed into the wall. They screamed out in pain, and the crash could be heard in the lab downstairs this made Mr. Luo run upstairs.

What he found was a giant chimera in the room with his family. It had flesh tarring sharp teeth, a venomous tail spike, giant bats like wings that are on its back currently folded on its back, large paws with claws that could slice you in half, with a large, strong body and head of a lion.

"Oh god!" he gasped before the Chimera hit him with one of its massive paws sending him over to his family. It looked at the family an let out a loud roar.

It was clear that it was about to go in for the kill. The power of the block was cut, which meant that the light's were out as well. This made it hard to see for very little light, entered the room from the hole in the wall, which barely allowed them to see anything.

"Move it!" a voice growled before something jumped from the stairs and slammed the chimera. The sound of something braking and plaster fell to the ground around it, as the figure pushed off the Chimera's head with a flip and landed in front of the family. It was clear that the figure in front of them was a person, as they were shaking their arm having plaster fall off their arm to the floor below them. Before they began to dust their arm and leg.

"You won't be killing this family. " They growled before pulling out a dagger and a pistol and running towards the thing. As they ran towards the Chimera, they disappear before the Luo family's eyes before promptly reappearing above the chimera. They shot it in the head but it did very little damage as it brushed it off like it was nothing.

The chimera fought back, swing its tail at them. They dodged the tail by spinning sideways and did an up slice on the things right side. When on the ground, they were shooting and slashing the chimera quickly changing sides as fast as possible disappearing and reappearing. They ran out of bullets, but it didn't phase them as they unload the cartridge and just as quickly loaded a new one.

They jumped back, avoiding the Chimera's slash with its massive paw and shot before rolling back to their feet and sliding to a stop before lunging forward. The Chimera stabbed at the person with its tail, but they kicked off the ground into a roll. When they landed on their feet, they pushed of sideways as they slashed the beast leg. The family watched in shock as this person fought against the Chimera to protect them. When their feet touched the ground again, they jumped up and go over the Chimera slashing the beast wings. But the beast was fast and when they landed the Chimera quickly spun around hitting them with its massive paw into a wall.

The Chimera then took it chance to turn its attention back to the Luo family. But the person wasn't just done yet and appeared in front of the Luo family again. But realizing what they were doing wasn't doing much to this beast they decided to change it up as they swapped out they're pistol and dagger, for two assassin blades one out to the left blocking the chimera and protecting the Luo family, well the other blade was ready to strike positioned behind their back.
