Chapter 37

In front of me was the familiar large building of the Marione base. It was odd seeing a mercenary group above ground in this day and age for a multitude of reasons. One big one was that it was much harder to prevent attacks from happening, it was also easier to find. But the upside is that it is easier to quickly move from one base to another and that was exactly what they were currently doing packing up to move base. 'This will be my only shot at rescuing Night, for a long while if not my only chance.' I stated as I stood up.

My body was at least 60% healed from the injuries that I have sustained over the last few days. I rolled my shoulders a little before stretching out my entire body. 'My power is good enough to burn down a few buildings. So I should be alright. My biggest trouble will be the rescue attempt since I don't have a movement ability like Cat.' I sighed as I felt some of my joints pop.

Watching as the Marione was packing up and leaving caused me to smirk cause I knew it was a direct result of the attack I pulled off. However, it was not 100% a good thing since the whole situation with Roy getting captured. They are one of the top dark groups of the underworld for a reason even after going into hiding for 30 years they were not something to take lightly. They had just as good avoidance and hiding capabilities as the Yano if not slightly better since they were able to go into hiding for so long with no one being able to find them.

Though I had my blades on my lower back and the pistols on my legs I had about 27 other weapons at my disposal to use in the fight I was about to undergo. I was likely one of the few people probably capable of taking on an entire sub-base by myself. But even then it doesn't mean I never experience failure.

Ensuring that everything was secured to my body I raced off to the base in front of me to one of the many large bay doors and placed my hand on the door and released an intense heat and melted the bay door enough for me to walk inside. I pulled out my pistols and begun to fire at the Marione agents that begin to scramble the moment they saw me walk in. I was quick and accurate in my firing my guns unloading a clip quite quickly. I released the cartridge and reloaded my guns.

As some agents got closer which was to be expected I put away one of my pistols and pulled out one of my blades. I slashed and cut the neck of the closest agents then put my pistol in the face of the next one and pulled the trigger I got sprayed by blood and brain matter as the bullet went through the agent's skull. I was starting to get surrounded so I moved quickly I didn't need to activate my boost ability just yet but it was getting difficult to avoid the attacks and I was starting to get grazed by their attacks.

I slashed one guy in the stomach deeply causing his guts to fall out. I then pull my pistol into another chest and unloaded a few rounds into their chest then jumped off another agent taking out my daggers and then threw the 6 daggers embedding them into their necks or chest causing blood to spray out. Flipping in my air I fired a few times and fired my pistol at the two agents that were in my landing spot. I then put away the pistol and brought out a glaive as I then landed on the two I killed kicking them to the floor then swung the glaive and cut down 4 more people.

After a few minutes slightly injured but I managed to create a blood bath around me. I swung my glaive splattering the blood on the ground as I did so. I then swung my glaive at the incoming attackers digging the sharp end into the one's side I felt the blade hit the spine from the single motion. I swung the glaive into the floor slamming them in the ground slashing them in half cutting through their spine the sound of snapping could be heard as I cut the spinal cord in two. I spun the glaive around me cutting down a few more people with slight easy bullets occasionally clipping my jacket or side but it didn't bother me and I continued to fight.

I knew that I had some blood dripping off me I've cut down 26 of the Marione's agents at this point and not in a 'clean' manner. I was a little tired after all that but had to make sure I caught my breath quickly. But as I was about to move forward to take down more agents a loud laugh broke out. "Hahahahah! What is with you weaklings! You can't even take care of one person. How pathetic." A male voice laughed I looked around but couldn't see anyone that stood out at the moment so I had a feeling that it was over the PA system or something, as I couldn't really see anyone.

"I'm assuming you are the one that broke into the base earlier. You must be here to get your partner that was caught."

"Hahaha! I'm here to burn this building down to the ground and kill everyone inside!" I exclaimed laughing out as I slammed the staff end into the ground creating a resounding ring.

"Oh so are not here for this man?" The voice exclaimed in the glassed-off room that looked down here I could see Roy with his helmet removed unconscious, his hair was black no longer red due to one of my power's that I performed in case something happened. I had to stop myself from reacting as it would be a worse outcome.

"I have no idea what you are talking about I came here on my leader order's to slaughter everyone here and burn this place to the ground. However, it's clear that this person is no one of yours I might just take them with me then." I laughed with a natural relaxed tone.

"Well it doesn't matter are you are not getting out of here alive. Harosine! Take out this intruder. Make it a show for us. As for the rest of you continue with your work!" The man exclaimed. I managed to pinpoint the origin of the voice to find a fairly young-looking man with black coloured hair and purple eyes that looked down at me. I felt a shiver down my back my instincts told me this man was dangerous.

I then felt an immense sense of danger from above me and I jumped backwards to watch as the Imitator (Harosine) land right where I was once standing. "I follow your command Julius." he replied the Imitator was different this time. I felt a slight chill and noticed familiar energy coming off him. He had an eyepatch over his left eye from the injury that I caused. He was no longer wearing a mask and his skin deathly pale it was surprising getting a chance to see his face he was older than I expected... also looked like death himself as well they were in such a bad state. As he locked his gaze on me I felt a pressure on me that wasn't there before.

'This is not going to be like the fight from before. That energy coming from him. It's similar to the energy that Fiona had. What the hell is this experiment to change this man in such a way in so little time. He is like a completely different person... no he is a different person if from what I understand what I was told about this experiment.' I thought.

It was then that Harosine charged at me I quickly brought up the glaive to block his slash with his sword. The slash was so powerful that it broke the staff in half and nicked my shoulder I could feel the bone break slightly for a moment before the adrenaline kicked in. He was much stronger than before so much stronger. I threw my weapon to the side and they disappeared as I pulled out the two blades on my lower back.

I looked at Harosine knowing this was not an easy fight ahead of me. The biggest question was would my body hold out. As not only was this guy strong my body was only at best 60% of what I could truly do. If I was to win this fight not only would I need some serious luck I needed a god damn miracle to occur.
