I ate my breakfast well watching TV, I was getting ready to go to school. Half of my food was on the table after my chair was shoved. I was pretty much ready to go, unlike everyone else.
But I haven't told you who I am yet have I?
My name's Roxanne Artuso, most people call me Roxie for short, I'm currently seventeen-years-old and in high school. Across from me was my younger brother Dave Luo, he's fifteen-years-old, he's in high school too. Then there is my sleeping 'older' brother Ari Luo he's older than me by two months, he's in high school of course. We live in Brightton city, the school's here in the city too. They tell me it's only thirty minutes away from here by car.
I watched Mrs. Luo trying to get Ari out of bed. Mr. Luo was running around to get ready to go... he woke up late, so he needs to leave right away to get to work on time.
"Ari Get up!" She yelled. She was currently at the door to his room, banging her fist against it.
I noticed that Mr.Luo was trying to leave without pants on I snickered then tapped Dave on the shoulder and pointed to his father, he chuckled with me.
"Dad!" he sighed with a grin.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Your pants, it's not casual Friday."
He looked down and saw that he wasn't wearing any pants and ran off to get them.
Ari got out of his room he was half asleep, he sat at the table, he wasn't dressed yet.
"Roxanne, are you getting used to things?" Mrs.Luo asked I nodded my head yes to her question.
"Are you ready for your first day at school?" She questioned.
"Kinda I'm a little nervous. I've never been to a real school before," I signed quickly answering her question.
"It's alright you'll be fine right boys?!" She huffed with sharpness in her voice directed towards her sons.
"Yes, mom!" They answered, sounding half asleep.
You probably could tell by now, but I'm not related to them and don't speak to them. They adopted me a few days ago, and today is my first day of real school.
I thought it was odd but, I was happy to be out of the orphanage. My parents died when I was young, so I was sent to the place a long time ago. I don't like to talk so when someone asks me a question that's not, yes and no I usually use sign language, to answer the questions they ask me.
...
Ari can drive, well so can I but he has a car, and I don't so he's driving us to school. The ride was quiet. I spent most of that time looking out the window or at my feet.
When we got to school, Dave left us to see his friends, which put Ari in the position to take me around the school.
"Look here, Roxie. I'm going to my friends so find your way around without me," He huffed. He left me out there alone. I went to the office to get my school schedule though the hardest part was trying to find the office since I had no one to guide me.
"Miss? What are you here for?" The secretary asked only glancing up to look at me for a moment.
"I'm here to get my schedule, I'm new here. My names Roxanne Artuso," I signed, but it seemed he didn't understand what I was doing. I let out a sigh pulled out a pad of paper wrote what I signed adding. "I don't really talk I was using sign language," Then showed it to him.
He handed me the schedule I left and walked around to find my first class.
I found the class, but I wasn't paying attention to the hallway and of course I ran into something causing me to fall back and yelp.
